Looks nice, although, I thought that they wern't going to include the visual styles in the beta versions.. Maybe need to download and install this sometime. Looks good.

I heard there is some kind of network update glitch or something to get the new OS... I dunno how though? and is it reversable?

Well, you legaly get it by being on the on the MSDN (Microsoft Developer Nerwork).

Too many bugs and not enough features and stuff to get it right now, I feel like waiting for a better release.

Beta 1 is missing all the new features that really make vista "new".
Beta 2 will have more of them.

tell us if games work I dl already but Im to scared to install

looks like a resource hog. pretty pics though, thanks digiQ8.

lol i cant switch to Vista now
everytime i choose Vista from the OS list in DOS it restart,

oh well ill just wait for Beta2 to test it again

vista isn't stable right now and shouldn't be used as a main OS.

its not my main OS
i installed it on another Drive

Does it come with IE7? It better be up to date with CSS standards. Finally it will be an end to all these hacks to get a website to look right in IE.

Will Vista have all those cooleh 3D windows that you can rotate and all that? I remember seeing them in a video somewhere.

On another note - I think the GUI looks pretty horrible. Too dark. I guess it'll come with some brighter styles too though.

this Beta dont got those cool features
and yes it got IE7 , i dont really like it

You just HAD to beat me. I got my copy from newsgroups :D. I'm using as a main OS on my laptop cause I don't really play games on it. I had trouble finding a sound driver, but I finally just forced it to install the SoundMAX driver that it originall had and sound works. Who cares about a modem driver but works ok for me so far. I attached one screen shot.

cant find network drivers.. the ones for my integrated nic will only install on windows xp. i try and run in compatibility mode, but it doesnt do anything.

do a force install like i did. pm me if you don't understand what I mean.

edit: also what kind of nic is it?

the problem is that i'm running it through vmware as well. its a realtek rtl 8169/8110

I wanna know, have you tried running any games on it yet? The nvidia and ati beta vista drivers are supposed to be out already, so i'm really intersted in the type of performance you'll get.

EDIT: I guess you haven't yet, but try installing it on your Desktop and then run a few games on it. I'm really excited to see performance in the beta state.

sinkoman... no graphics cards drivers = no games.

I'd like to try Vista on my beast machine, but I'll wait till Beta 2 comes out to install that. I finally got Macromedia Flash to work, but only by installing Flash MX 2004 Pro.

1. Your resolution is turd.
2. My customized Windows XP looks better.

my resolution? If it is...it's because I took the screenshot on my laptop which has a max of 1024x768.

What's wrong with 1024? I run all my games at 1024, and I keep my desktop at 1024.

Oh and your theme looks like an OSX rippoff. Not to mention themes get loaded into system memory.

DigiQ8 FTW.

Is it just the way you've customised it, or is the big new improvement in Vista actually changing the name of "My Computer" to "Computer"? They can't leave that sodding icon alone can they?

Well they said a long whle back that they were dropping the "My" stuff.
