So I start my computer today after it running fine lastnight before I shut it off. I played a little NS and then I stop and my computer just starts to run like total shit. So I thought maybe Steam or some other program was causing it, so I restart my computer. After I try to restart, my computer gets to the Windows XP Pro screen and then restarts. Then it tries to load again but this time I get the "Windows did not shut down right blahblahblah" would you like to start windows in "Safe mode, Safe mode with blahblha, blahblahlbah" and then finally "Start windows with the last good configs" or something like that. So I told it to start with the last good configs and again it reboots when I get to the windows xp logo screen. So it gave me the above message again and I tell it to start in Safemode. It loads some stuff but then freezes and reboots again even when trying to start in safe mode. Oh, I didn't d/l anything either so I don't think it could've been a Virus.
Anyways, so I format my computer and reinstall Win XP Pro but now I get an annoying white line with a black background that takes about 30 seconds to finish before I get the Wind. XP pro logo. It does this everytime I restart and it used to not do this. Grrrr. I just bought a brand new WD 40GB 7200RPM HDD. So I could have that as C & my IBM 80GB as D for games or whatnot and C for windows. Is my new HDD already crapping out on me? It's not even a month old.
Anyone else get this annoying white line before Win XP boots up?
