What's funny is how certain Microsoft products suck while other products are awesome. I cannot live without Microsoft Excel and I actually like Microsoft Outlook. Other programs like Windows and IE are some of the worst things man has ever created.

/me dances and leaves the room

nah! Opera is teh one!!!111 :bounce:

I think it would be a good idea if all the linux versions bundeled their power and made one linux product that can do everything that windows can do (full game support) and even more! Just remove all the packages that cause confusion for the n00bs, because there are ALOT of people that use MS because they havent heard of linux or are unsure what package is best. So make one big strong and good product as a good 3th pary operating system in the MS, linux, Apple triangle

if microsoft didnt care about the consumer, why would they be releasing a patch to appease their customers??

hating microsoft is such a stupid nerdy trend. honestly guys spend your time doing something better.

I also heard that many people were were having product key issuses as well, it seems that almost 25% of people with real actual windows CD's with hologram and everything
were getting "your product key cold not be verified" or something to that effect.
this combined with the other crap, really has me worried. I have my OS just the way I want it, I should not have to deal with any of this crap just to patch a hole in the SW I paid $200 to begin with!

SP2 works fine for me. Guess I was the lucky one. I don't really like the new security features because I already have a good virus scanner and firewall and spyware remover.

Only if you run the extra services.

But all in all great step in the right direction for MS. Should of done it when XP came out though.

Running it fine here.

If you get the cd key issue(which i have never heard of) call up microsofts number and they will sort it for you.

They don't care about the end user, its the corporate sector that is there major market, and right now Linux is a much bigger threat to Microsoft in the corporate sector so as a result Microsoft has to try what it can to keep Linux at bay.

Besides I don't remember Microsoft really releasing that many patches (they certainly didn't advertise them) before Linux became such a threat. Plus most of there patches now are to fix security holes that should have never have existed when they first released XP. Many of course are unavoidable and won't be found until after but alot of them should have been noticed and dealt with during the development phase.

Ahh, good thing im not a total dumbass.. i hate internet explore, opera is better. I have 4 or 5 diffrent programs that scan for virus, spyware, and adware. I didnt get Sp2. And if you think about it, new virus's will come out for sp2? Well what if u still have sp1? Maybe it wont do anything :). God damn im retarded.

Opera is an amazing browser, right now I am using IE because its not my computer but I hate it because it feels so limiting and useless compared to what I have become use to.

I wonder why there are still ppl which use IE... Its such a crappy browser making the "internet experience", "internet nightmare aka pain in the a$$"...
It even misses the most simple and important feature: Tabs! Why do I have to open new browser windows all the time since I can have them all in one window?

*ZeeM still can`t figure out how the hell he was browsing the net with IE some time ago...*

The main reason for SP2 is to get aunty Moreen to not get infected with virus and spyware.

So in turn cuts down on internet traffic and emails etc etc.

I've had no problems with SP2.

And I use IE because the other browsers always make sites look slightly wrong; there are always things like colored scrollbars or other little things that get screwed up, and it annoys me. I couldn't care less about tabbed browsing; I tried it, and I'd rather have easier access to diff windows via the taskbar.

Realllllyl GOOD!

It's weird that im not seeing this news across any of the big windows sites, or any of the bigger tech sites.

SP2 is meant to feck about with %10 of programs because of it's security features. Im thinking from the post that they are in some kind of data center or test lab with lots of programs that SP2 could have compatibility problems with.

were did you get the sp2?? it didnt show up in the windows update scan...
