I finally have all the hardware for my new rig. At first I was having trouble with the hardware (it turns out that my processor was overheating), but thanks to ABIT, the hardware is working fine now. The software side is where I'm having troubles now. Apparently, though I already heard it in this forum but didn't believe it, windows xp doesn't like it when you simply move a hard-drive over to a completely new system. I know that I could just reinstall windows and everything would be fine, but I really don't want to do that (plus, I don't actually have a copy of windows xp right now... :naughty: ). Anyways, can I just like delete all of the system drivers so that it will boot up like new, or is there some way for me to make it "forget" that the other hardware was ever there? If not, well, I'll be spending about another $100 or so for an OEM version of Windows XP, which I really don't want to do after spending more on this new comp than I probably even should have in the first place. Please help me, anyone.

Edit: Oh, and if you need them, my system specs are in my sig, if you didn't notice.

You can't shift a HDD over I'm afraid. Or rather you can, but you will have the problems you are having. Its not just drivers, theres millions of things windows set up during install that are hardware specific. A clean format is the only reliable way. You could try a repair install, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Ok, well thanks... I can't really do either install without a windows xp disc though, lol. I will figure it out soon enough, though, I hope.
