Hey guys,

I've just upgraded to a basic AMD 64-bit system, and I remember when it first appeared that XP x64 wasn't very popular.

What do people think to it now, is it worth obtaining?

Vista in 64bit. And it's due out in October? So, I wouldn't think the attitude towards it would be any greater now.

I have x64. Its ok ,but 32 bit compatability issues are a "B".I couldnt use Norton, had to replace that with free software, cant d/l my drivers for my g15 gaming keyboard, and more. :(

Dual boot 64bit with 32bit... You only get a performance increase with software that is 64bit. ( Unreal 2k4, and HL2 ( some ) are the only games with 64bit support I have seen myself ) When you do run 64 on 64, it is a fantastic boost of performance compared to 32 on 32.

I have a Sempron 64. Will I be able to play Half-Life 2 64-bit? Will Steam download anything extra?

should be able to, Steam didnt seem to download anything "extra" on my computer when I switched to 64 bit, but I dont keep up with exactly what steam is updating.

Is there any way to tell it IS using the 64-bit version?

well iff your processor is 64 bit then it should run in the 64bit version. I believe it was in that huge steam update like 4 months ago?
