Did this in PS7, took me about 14 hours so far, i think its coming together nicely, but for the resolution that the original is at (5100x3630) :O i think i could polish it up alot more and add some more details to it.

Lemme know whatcha think.

The point of doing things at high resolution is to have plenty of detail in it for when its scaled back down. You could have painted it at the size its displayed there and look no different.

It's got a sound idea behind it though. Keep it up :)

Yeah, I know, thats what I hate about doing these larger sized pieces  , to display them I often have to reduce thier size to be uploaded or displayed properly on most peoples screens, and not preserve all of the minute detail work that I put into it. I guess I could upload the hires version, but then you dont get to take it in all at once...

Wow i really like it. I wish i could use that program, or draw like that at all.

I've set it as my background, i think it fits nicly there :)

I dont think the Citadel is there yet during the 7-hours war :O (at least not in its full form, anyway) Nice painting

Not bad. Not really my style tho. Seems like it needs more detail in places.

Still not enough detail. While high res lets you add pseudo bump map effects, its all simply not defined enough. At high resolutions you could be able to pick out details in small sections. But it still looks like you've just used a high res and larger brushes.

But you say its a WIP so I expect you'll add all the minute details and hints of detail and so on before its finished.

My comments are the same as anyone - it's a strong base, but it needs a lot more detail.

It's very nice (dispite the lack of blood, pain and suffering). I love the fire. But the texture on the side of the wall doesn't fit with the rest of the blur, especially right next to it. I like all the textures and stuff

Very nice. I can see the textures now in the bigger resolution.
And yes, more blood wouldnt hurt

The guy could have a comrade who's dead) with only half a face, one arm and a big scar down his body. Maybe I big pole stuck through his head

I like the gore idea, I only spent a little more time on this, I updated the large version, I re-did some less detailed parts...im thinking of adding a destroyed APC on the street or other things to create a sense of overwhelming defeat.

The bump map kinda robs away the 3d-feeling, they look more 2d-ish and plastic. Bump-maps are good but dont abuse them :P

btw you call that gore? :D

Better, not good enough
Gore: Is that it???

It doesnt necessary have to be so gore. Perhaps you should add more bodys though and splatter more blood if you want. :P
Anyway the guy sitting there looks pretty good, and the weapon is really good too, but I´d like to point out some things.

The shadows are always colder. The only light source seem to be the fire, so it should cast a warm light on surfaces, in this case its not white, but its yellow. And shadwos are more blue. Try avoiding black, it doesnt really exist but only in photos and such.

Black isn't apparently a colour. It's just wrong! :o
Black is teh best! But I agree with what you're saying.

Also, the textures just make it more 2D. It is a 2D picture, so adding textures put more 3D into it. But merging both doesn't work. If you get what I mean?

I know what you guys are saying, I think this piece is really more of a menagerie compilation of new techniques im trying out...like the bumpmapping-esque stuff and the lighting....its just really diffrent from the typical by-the-hand stuff that im used to doing. Still a WIP, although I think i need to take a break from it for a little.

Try doing something else and coming back to it. It usually helps as you see it in a different light

I see a light switch, but I see no wiring.

Lol, walk into your room and look at the switch, do you see wiring? :P
Then blow up half your house, can you see any wiring yet? :P

Thank god for the image zoom/fit to screen extension for FireFox. scrolling through larger than my desktop images to see every bit would be annoying all the time otherwise :p

looking good though

OMG!!! Combines there IS A COMBINE IN THE PICTURE!!!! OMFG!!! :DThis looks really Star Wars-ish. (Tatooine-esque) :P

Keep up the goos work!

Wow! Last time I saw this was without the combine

Amazing picture
I love the wind effects on the sand, the combine, and the prints.
And I just noticed the stairs! :o
The hands should be worked on a bit more though

Great work :D

It is, the story discribes the citadell to be just there, in a flash of a second, a big chunk of the city was replaced with it.

quote from one of the cut scripts "Eli: There was an illusion of safety, for a time. And then the Citadels appeared. It happened in a split second, all over the world. A chunk would vanish from the center of the city, to be replaced an instant later be one of these... headquarters for the Combine. Invasion central."

And from that citadell the forces came, earth tried to resist but got defeated fast!

I think it's great. No way could I do anything looking this good. Keep it up. I like the solitary guy there.. he looks so lonely..

Hey,
