Well I'm almost done with this map which I've been working on. Should be done by tomorrow. Here are some screenies. Please tell me what you think.

I love the lighting and the colors, those yellow lights go great with the sky.

Looks like it may be a little too small for anything more than 12 players tho. I guess unless close combat is what you're going for, then good job! Grab a shottie!

What kind of map is it? hostage or bomb?
 
Looks good. You might want to try and give it a more apparent sunlight, as there appears to be a rather spectacular sunset occurring. Right now the light on the map doesn't match the light in the sky.
 
Thanks! I'm planning for it to be a hostage map, probably with 2 hostages (because of the map's small size) but I need to figure out how to get them to work first. Lol. And pur3r4ge, what would you suggest for the lighting? *Listens intently*

Edit : It's gonna be raining too. :angel:
 
Hostages could work so much better with AI nodes.

Probably. I don't really know. But it seems like they should.
 
Try just putting in a low angle env_light (I hope I'm remembering the entity name correctly), colored and angled to approximately match the height and location of the sun in the skybox.
 
nice map.

I like quick maps that deliver tons of carnage. they usually are the most fun in DM/survivor MP.

as far as the lighting you may want to try to use an env_sun then set your sun to target an info_target to get the angle. you can adjust the color of your sun by copy/paste your current colored lights to the sun color and the size of your sun.
 
That looks really nice. I really like the orange lights. They go well with the sunset and the metal everywhere.

Just a suggestion though... Make some surrounding buildings in the 3d Skybox. You could easily make it look much more cramped and wearhouseish with some surrounding structure.

But leave that sunset area open....its pretty :D
 
thats a pretty good looking map. i like the close combat thing there, looks like shotguns will be loads of fun! :D

btw navyseal, you are based in singapore? thats pretty cool, so am i :) what css servers do you play?

Already done that :E Thanks for the tips guys, keep them coming :) And blinking halo I do live in Singapore. I usually play in the Fragnetics Servers or the aNova ones.
 
A tip for the map itself - you'll want to edit it a fair amount once you start playing [have test runs asap, as often as possible]. I'd suggest looking at the layout [i assume you have one] and focusing your detail / gameplay on the choke points and areas of high traffic. I.e all those different walls around the place in the first screenie won't do much good if it's somewhere they're just going to run through instead of a choke point/high traffic area.
