WIP: Kabar Knife

This is my first real model I am making that is not following a tutorial and I am using Ichi's method of modelling. I am having trouble connecting the handle parts as you can see in this picture:

Here is another angle as well as a picture of the reference image I am using. Any other tips greatly appreciated!

i really dont think its necessary to use the poly by poly method for a knife. its too simple. its looking good though, just fix the smoothing groups, and if possible change the sharpness of the renders.

Add some vertices on the edges of the "guard" and then weld them with the handle. Very good model, the carve on the blade seems a little too smooth on the sides though.

you probably wont need to weld the blade to the handle,, it's rigid and will never be deformed,, save yourself a couple polies

so should i just like push the round part of the handle into the guard or should i weld/connect them together?
