Im sorry, but it needed to be said. Im on my third wireless mouse in a row and so far the response times and the sensitivity and completely sub-par to wired mice. Even the old mice with the balls are more responsive.

I just spent $80 on the MX1000 and its a peice of crap. Stay away from wireless like its the bird flu!

my old wireless mouse stayed with me for a few years and it did me well when i played games. i just thought that it was time to upgrade, so i got a razer.

Do you have it plugged into a USB port?

If so, just switch it over to PS2, and all your worries will... something.

Yea it's in the PS2 port. I think it's just the nature of the wireless device; low bandwidth wireless is just slower than wired, period.

I frankly discern a distinct difference in response, along with the mouse not being as acurate.

Oh well, I'll be _downgrading_ to wired.

This pc I am on now, has an MX700. Tis about 4-5 years old now and my gaming pc has one aswell and its 2-3 years old.

I'll admit the one on this pc has been acting like shit lately, but its not like I need it for gaming, just browsing sites, IRC, and talking on AIM with friends.

Then buy a wired mouse and don't whine anymore. There are plenty of people who like wireless. You just happen to not be one of them.

Do you always have to be so mean to everyone? ;(

I had a wireless mouse. It lasted like a two years or so and then, one day, it stopped working. It was also optical, so the weirdest thing about it was how it would sometimes fall on the ground and blind me with the lazars. And the lazars would never ever turn off... didn't exactly save my batteries. :|

I bought a $10 optical cheap mouse. It rocks.

Yes, actually ;)

I'm get tired of people here coming and saying "Blah blah, this or that sucks", as if their opinion were the only true one, and then go on to say that they bought THREE of the aforementioned product that "sucks".

well i have the mx1000 and works like a dream. main problem i see with wrieless mice is that people put the wireless reciever next to their crt monitor which cuts the signal out alot or reduces the single greatly

The only problem with my wireless mouse was that it went through batteries like nobody's business. So much so that I eventually assumed that there was something wrong with it, and went back to my P/S2.

The guy who posted this topic is bugging... The MX1000 kicks so much arse, it's unbelievable. We even had a discussion about the MX1000 and not one person said lag was a drawback...

Would wireless mice be as popular if they sucked so much? Ummm no...

Like one other guy said, it's probably the placement of your receiver. Move it away from the wires, monitor, pc case and anything else electrical. You can also change the wireless channel by hitting the button on the bottom of the mouse. I also have a wireless Logitech keyboard and no complaints.

My Logitech "Cordless Click! Plus" mouse sometimes bugs out when I have the TV aerial too close to it, or pointed a certain way. For so long I though that it was because of dodgy batteries.

I also have a wireless keyboard from a different vendor (microsoft), and that might interfere also.

It works perfectly otherwise, and I wouldn't go back to wires.

I have has a MX700 and have a MX1000. Both are awesome.
If you never had a wireless mouse before then you do have to get used to the weight of the batteries. I like heavy mice better now. ;)

I have an MX1000 and its better than most wired mice ive tried...and pwns most wireless. Maybe you just suck at life?

another more than happy MX1000 owner here, fantastic mouse, excellent accuracy, excellent response, excellent weight, excellent reception and excellent battery life and charging station. if i broke it i'd buy another:D

It's the truth, wireless mice suck, whether they have a ball or are optical. Stay with the wires, people.

I still prefer my wired Logitech MX 510. I wouldn't consider getting a wireless mouse unless I had a Media Center PC hooked up to my TV and I wanted to control everything while sitting on my couch several feet away.

My old mx700 worked like a dream. Don't like the extra weight of batteries? Start lifting weights.

Well as for my whining it turns out it was all justified.

I just got the MX518 and the sensitivity is twice that of the MX1000 (1600dpi instead of the MX1000 and its 800dpi) and the response time is instant.

I dont feel like it's lagging anymore. Thanks to the cord ;)

If you like your MX1000, I guarantee if your a perceptive person you'll notice a difference.

I've noticed that the cheaper the wireless mouse, the slower the response time and even the great MX1000 is a bit slower then your average wired mouse.

If your a gamer, go back and try a wired mouse and see how if feels.

As for my "whining", this thread might be of some help for someone thinking about "upgrading" to wireless. In other words, now they know to at least TRY the mouse first, because before I bought a wireless mouse, I didn't even know response time would be an issue.

Wireless gets too much hype for sub-par performance, it just looks flashy.

Not our fault you didn't hook your up right or got a shitty one. I am a perceptive person and can't notice any difference between wired and my mx1000.

Lmao @ me not hooking a mouse up right... hahaha.

I've had three wireless mice in the last month and they all have a noticable response time, the more expensive the mouse, the less a response time.

Coincedence? Obviously not.

Just because you don't notice a difference doesn't mean there isn't one. Why else would the boxes on the wireless mice say "QUICKER RESPONSE TIME!". Duh, because it must be an issue.

As far as it not being your fault, you must have some kind of personal issue because no one blamed you for anything. You should get that looked into.

I say wireless mice suck if you need fast response times. this is my 5th mouse in 1 month and the two wired mice both perform better.

Feel free to start a thread titled "Wireless mice are GREAT!"

You suck at computer mice, leave this place

I have a Logitec G7 and I can't notice the diff between a wired or wireless mouse

i just noticed he's from Los Angeles, so you have to excuse him, bit like a monkey that throws it's own faeces around cause it doesn't know any better:dozey:

What you are experiencing is called "The Placebo Effect".

BTW here's a quote from IGN.com:

"PC gamers have long debated personal preference between corded and wireless gaming mice. Years ago, wireless mice operated on infrared signals for communication with their base stations, which resulted in a TV-remote style of spotty signal that did not produce happy results during twitch games of Quake. A second problem was the fact that a lot of the past generation wireless mice would enter a sleep mode in order to preserve battery life. All well and good, but some mice would take a good 3 or 4 seconds to wake up when suddenly used. The effect was both annoying and crippling for gamers. As such, wireless mice have long suffered under the misconception that they are simply not suited for gaming. "

"The G7 suffers from none of these flaws. The switch to 2.4GHz wireless makes a big difference, as line-of-sight to the receiver is no longer a requirement, and the G7 never enters a noticeable sleep state. After weeks of use, we have never experienced mouse lag or stuttering due to signal issues, and even after a battery hot-swap (more on this later), the second the battery is inserted the G7 has a solid connection. The G7 laser engine allows it to track over more surfaces than the optical mice that preceded it. In our testing the G7 never failed: from desk, to jean, to t-shirt and carpet, it chugged away. Three Teflon feet make the G7 glide nicely, especially on the gaming engineered sUrface 1030 Archetype pad that I use."

"Performance: Great tracking and accuracy. Never lost signal, never skipped."

Now, here's another article from tomshardware.com called "No Wires and No Lag"

http://www.tomshardware.com/2003/10/20/optical_mice/page5.html

and I quote:

"Actually, there's no argument about this, all the wireless mice in this review are as fast as their wired cousins, and don't you forget it."

That was written _2_ years ago about the MX700 and various other wireless mice using 27mhz technology! They werent even talking about the superior 2.4ghz that we use now, which they discuss in the first article.

End of discussion!

Hmm, I think I know what the problem is. When you let the mouse sit for a while it turns itself off. You have to move it and it takes a few miliseconds to turn back on and then move the mouse. After that it is just fine.

My mx1000 is great!its responsive, rechargeable and i can sit my ass on the couch and play strategy games with it XD
