Did you have to get yours removed? Mine are starting to poke through and it annoys me when i eat. :hmph: I had to take care of my sister when she got hers removed. It didn't look like fun. :(

I was told mine were posing no threat to me, so no point in doing anything now, but they may be a problem later in my life, but there's no harm in waiting until they are.

So I'm pretty happy about that.

i got mine removed at the end of april...they put a needle in me and i kept on coming in and out of consciousness it was a really cool feeling...i was BARELY swollen and later that night the numbness went away and i went out.

But that was just me, some of my friends got it 100x worse, they were swollen for a week and they were in extreme pain for a few days after...so i guess it depends how bad your wisdom teeth are coming in.

No, but I think I have been experiencing problems with them lately, in the form of jaw pain, and when I wake up the morning it's difficult to close my mouth fully, but it goes away quickly and is gone now. My teeth and gums themselves don't actually hurt.

Not yet, but I'm told once they come out, I have to get them taken out since it'll apparently cause me mucho pain.

I have a friend who had them taken out a couple years ago and she said her cheeks felt very swollen but not much pain. But she's got a much higher tolerance for pain than me, so I expect they'll have to drag me, kicking and screaming, into taking them out.

Got mine removed.
Was basically high for a week, taking vicodin whenever I felt even a smidge of pain. :(

Yeah, it was painless. I didn't take one Vicodin because it just wasn't needed. Laughing gas is lulzy. I had all 4 removed, and about 3 impacted so it was rather intrusive and bled for a while.

Mine came in with no problems and the dentists didn't say anything about a later date to get them removed :D

It was funny; after he suctioned each tooth he did a "first jab / pound it" with the assistant lady. I remember that distinctly. He kept cracking jokes about 50-cent and the crazy music "kids like these days." At one point they were waiting for the laughing gas to kick in and had left me alone in the room. After a while I got dizzy and took the little nose mask off to get some fresh air, the nurse came in all flustered and said that you can't just remove the mask as it causes some medical condition... so I asked her to elevate the seat if they leave again so I wouldn't get dizzy. Ahh fun times.

I've not been to the dentist in about 6 years....so I have no clue if I should get em removed or not.

I have some and they are fine. Also pitz, you really should go to the dentist...man, here you have to go every six months (mind you, we have national insurance, but still).

Your dentist will refer you to an oral surgeon who will tell you if you need them removed or not. But given that it's been six years, you'd probably have to get new x-rays. Do you have insurance?

besides my wisdom teeth, they pulled 6 others before that, 3 one day, 3 the next

I had mine pulled out, they knocked me out, it was fun waking up. Anyway, the next few days can be a bitch since its hard to eat anything that is solid, but they did give me some vicodin, which was unsurprisingly stolen soon after by my brother during his drug abuse years.

Mouth pain can be a real bitch because you need to .. you know eat and talk.

But if the teeth are coming in wrong or are going to make your other teeth crooked then you better get them pulled ASAP.

Get it over with and you'll be healed up in no time

I had them removed years back. The solpadeine was worth it alone.

Had them removed years ago. Painless and no problems. Mine were only removed because they would have been painful if they were left in.

Man, that was a while back. The problem with leaving them in is they're hard to keep properly clean.

It's in the process of getting switched around and such, actually.

I hope mine grow in more. I want my birthright of using them to chew roots.

Lucky bastards, they didn't put me under at all.
They basically just numbed my gums and cut that shit out.

Which is why I had my upper right one removed, little **** decided it wanted to develop a cavity right at the back.

Aside from that mine are fine.

Mine started to emerge when I was 19 (now 20) and they basically put to sleep. Basically you will be tired, then the next moment the doctor will tell you the thing is done. You will be like "wtf?!!? I thought it just started a second ago!". The first night it is sore and you are in pain, but you are not crying and can function normally. The second day is much better and you can take out the gauze. The third you can start washing out your disgusting mouth with salt water. Just don't swish too hard to avoid dry socket. It isn't too bad at all.

I'm one of the incredibly lucky genetic freaks that doesn't actually have wisdom teeth. You can turn green with envy now.

Mine were growing horizontally into the other teeth, causing jamming and whatnot (but they were otherwise painless). To get them out, they had to cut the gums off of them, break the crowns off, and pull the root (the roots had mashed into a single unit). They got one out whole though, which I still have. Needless to say, I was knocked out and it was otherwise an okay experience.

I got mine cut out. It was either bleeding a little bit for a month, or I was so paranoid about it bleeding that I imagined it was bleeding. Sometimes in the months afterwards I would get this weird feeling that the holes had opened up and started bleeding again, and I would think I tasted blood and put my tongue in the side of my mouth expecting to find holes in my gums, even though I knew that wasn't possible.

Other than that, it wasn't that bad.

two of mine were growing in a year ago and I went to the dentist and they said I should have them removed and told me to go to an oral surgeon. I never went. They haven't grown much and only the two. No pain so I don't care. Although vicodin sounds cool, it didn't do much last time I took some. My neck was stuck to one side and I couldn't move it without excruciating pain. They gave me vicodin and muscle relaxers which didn't do shit.

Both of my top wisdom teeth have emerged, but not the bottom ones. Never had any trouble with them yet, and I'm already 24. I guess I might be one of the lucky people who don't have to endure having to get them snatched.

Your going to have some discomfort when they start coming in. Chunks of my gum around the top of the tooth actually fell off before the discomfort started to go away.

i just got 4 impacted ones removed today

gg falling asleep before they even put in the sedative (lol @ waking up at 6 compared to my usual 11~)

i'm just chilling here with an ice pack on my cheek eating mashed potatoes, 0 pain so far (although a lot of blood, got some gauzes for it ftw) and taking random pain meds. I got home pretty early and slept for 5~ hours, i guess i needed it.

oh god, reading all these made me cringe D: D:

I have ****ed teeth, mostly my bottom jaw, but eh, D:!

Nah. The one on the left side of my mouth was poking out for a while and bugged me when I ate, but it's fine now.

I had only one wisdom tooth that got removed recently, wasn't painful at all and I was awake through it. Even after the extraction when the intital shots of whatever it is that numbs your mouth wore off, the pain wasn't bad at all. I especially liked the part where I got prescribed a large amount of hyrdocodone. I wish they would pull out the other one I have but ithey said its not doing any harm where its at and I don't think it'll ever need to be removed. :(

Well, all 4 wisdom teeth have fully emerged and my dentist told me that since I've got a small mouth they will push all the rest of my teeth causing problems. I've got only one of them out. He basically just numbed the area and then pulled the sucker out, none of this knock you out nonsense. It hurt like hell for a few days, he told me the rest had to be taken out, but I never went back. It's now 2 years later, and i still have no intention to have the rest of them removed, lol.

So now my mouth is a disaster area: 3 wisdom teeth, 1 tooth sideways, 2 teeth cracked in half. Yeah I'm hardcore.

I hope I don't have to suffer with wisdom teeth for another few years yet. It would be great if i didn't get them and have to have them removed; my last operation was painful enough and made me hope i wouldn't have to have surgery on my mouth again. I was left with a great big hollow in the roof of my mouth after my op and I really hope I don't have to go through anything similar to that again.
