Hmm, if you open up the client now you get the log-in screen. Not that you can connect, I'm just bored.

Release is in Q2 of 2005. So I'm guessing that 2.0 will last about a month at most. And their talking about a 2.5 and and 3.0 as well. 3.0 will be a MASSIVE stresstest on the servers.
So if you dont make it into 2.0, then you'll deffinetly get in another.
 
Yeah, 2.0 lasts a month. 2.5 is going to be a smaller one where the developers choose from the beta 2.0 testers.

They said they have over 60,000 applications and wont be activating them all on the same day ;(

Me too. I'd like to know if i get in, i hope i do. I'll be the best Beta tester ever :D

Because of the enormous number of beta applications that we have
received (more than 60,000 at the time of this writing), we will not
enable all beta accounts on January 1 at once. Instead, we will only
enable a number of randomly chosen beta accounts every day, starting
January 1.

We require this transition period to better configure our one-world
server. By granting access to the beta test in stages, we can better
allocate resources where they are required.

We will try our best to enable all accounts as quickly as possible. In
any case, if you are not one of the first to be selected, don't worry!
The live content we have prepared for you will allow you to join at
any time.

Please do not send us any inquiries about when your account will be
enabled. We will send you an email notification once your account is
active. The selection is completely random, and no exceptions will be
made.

Do you think it's damaging my copy of the game every time it updates? I ask because it's kinda surprising that it's updating even though the beta hasn't started yet.

I'm download a 72mb patch at the moment.

Not suprised really...there was so many threads in the Wish forums saying it sucked etc etc etc

I didnt enjoy it either TBH ;(

If every thing was cancelled because some people on the internet said it sucked nothing would ever be made.

Agreed, although its a shame, they should have at least had faith in thier project...oh well, cant be helped.

I didnt say it was canned because of that :p
 
it was just poor from the start... firstly they implimented a click to move system, which was a major pain in the butt, you couldnt go precisely where you wanted to like you can with traditional wasd.
it was confusing, although some parts were simpler than competitors such as the crafting, the confusing start to the game was bad... you did the tutorial, then just spawned randomly in the city and thats it, you have to fend for yourself. I couldnt even get a bow off the bow trainer woman :(
I dont think it was good enough to make a profit, plus the huge number of bugs and engine problems.
 
I played wish for a total of 5 min and uninstalled the beta comletely as it was utter garbage not worthy of my time

Well am glad you explained what you found wrong with it, i never played it myself...anyone else have any other complaints?
 
Just to sum up from other things I've read:
-The umpteenth fantasy mmorpg they've played.
-Bad graphics (save the sky system) and lagged on top of the line machines even with low settings, and after Beta 2.0
-PnC (point-and-click), impossible to navigate in cramped areas, Read: Dungeons.
-Too slow, unable to experience the Live Content if at the wrong place. (while others actually liked this.)
-Would've been too costly.
-Newbies (the core of any mmo game) leaving by the droves at the difficulty of it.
 
Can't help but feel bad though thinking about the guys who spent their time on this for so long, only to have it flop. That's the problem with me... I care too much.

Played, uninstalled, burned clothes I was wearing, brought new keybored and mouse, formated my computer.

Yet I still feel the dirt on me!

Crappy game, looks like EQ1 gfx wize, I mean come on, I know gfx are not everything, but there something, but some effort into it, and apart from that, its just a plain old samly mmorpg. I'll go back to waiting for auto assult and twilight.

I think white zero is sad. he seemed pretty excited about this, and he hasn't posted since it was cancelled
