Você Suga A Régua De I!

Ah, my bad, I can't read

The 6800 ultra is of course the far superior card.. but at what, 4-5 times the cost?

I thought the 6800 Ultra was the new top of the line card from nvidea.

err.. did he always have that written there? I swear he said 5600 ultra..

my bad, of course the 6800 is much better

There, edited my first post to make me not look stupid :)

tight budget? i wouldnt get the 6800 becous you'll need a new mobo and possibly a new processer / case :(

6800 is still AGP.. why would he need a new motherboard, processor or case? :| :|

oops lol, i got confused..wrong..card...ignor me

While the 4800 is a lot lower in cost it may be already outdated in a bit.
It should last until D3/HL2 comes out but games after that probably will chew it up.
The 6800ultra/6800 have a huge leap in performance over the top end cards today (5950Ultra/9800XT) and should last 2-3 years down the road.

Btw in some tests it isn't that much ahead but that is because of CPU being a bottleneck. That's why it stays where it is when the Res. AA/AF are increased.

A 9800Pro for 200$ would last a good 1-2 years and that isn't 400$-500$. hehe
Choices. If you can manage to invest for the next few years grab the 6800 (or possibly ATI's new card, check benchmarks later) or if you can't go beyond 200$ go ahead and grab the 9800pro.
If you are really short on cash then a GF4 will be OK but it wont last.

What card do you have now?

It depends on what you're planning on doing with it, like what games you'll be playing, and what the rest of your system specs are, really. If you have money to burn and a fast system, then definitely the 6800. Of course the Ti 4800 is a DX 8.1 card, while the 6800/Ultra are the first fully DX 9 compliant cards.

Not to get off topic, but if the 6800 Ultra is so bleepin fast, how fast will be the mid-range cards ($200 US cards) from Nvidia be ?

Lest we forget, I need to point out that in most gaming systems the other more weaker links in chain get overlooked WAY to often. If you dont have at least 512MB/1GB of DDR333or400 AND an AthlonXP 2500 or P4 2.5GHZ CPU you may need to rethink your master plan! A Porsche engine in a Yugo is STILL a Yugo!
