How the **** did MTV (of all the people) get first footage of the new games?
CoD2 doesn't look that special anymore...I don't see any ragdoll, and the graphics look just slightly improved... :(

Quake 4 however...looks in-****ing-credible. :eek:

you'll need to enable popups. Quake 4 is unbelievable, the others are pretty average. condemned looks absolutely horrible though.

had to press ctrl to get it, nm now.

yuck, so many ads just to watch it, the effects when the guy got shot in cod2 were very saving private ryan, looked cool.

quake looked great.

rest were sorta meh.

the condemned was just 'wtf' a load of freaks grunting and beating people over the heads with metal bars. :dozey:

Whoa... I just noticed, by downloading something from MTV.com, that my download speed has been bumped up from 3Mb/s to 5Mb/s. They didn't inform us about a change... but I'm not complaining.
 
Very impressed with all of them, especially Gears Of War, Project Gotham 3 and Ghost Recon 3

At a guess you are using firefox, open the link in IE
 
Pressure, you are trying to open it in FireFox. Try using IE. I had the same problem.

The only one that looks nice is Gears of War. So much for next gen consoles having a gap on the PC - not gonna happen.
 
Use Internet Explorer, it is another "badly programmed porn site that doesn't like Firefox as it can't hijack your computer" site.

Quake IV looks cool, CodII is OK and everything else is bleh. QuakeIV is all I'm paying attention to now anyway :P
 
Is that Gear of War thingy using the U3 engine? It looks like that famous U3 giant that breaks out of the wall. But OMG all of the videos look so cool, im buying the Xbox360 as quick as i can buy it, along with getting the PS3 once i can, if i can.

Ragdolls are lame. Far from realistic and just kinda fun to play with. I'll take good animation over ragdolls any day. The graphics are nice and as long as the combat is solid I'll definitely check it out.

Quake 4 looks like improved gfx from Doom 3 with less of the "shiny" effect with TONS more action going on. Looks like it's gonna be sweet.

EDIT: Yeah that Gears of War vid showed that monster that's from the UE3 vids. It's gotta be using the engine.

Explain to me how bodies sliding down stairs, cartwheeling through the air, bending over backwards supported on their bent legs, flopping around looking hardly like a real body is realistic. They just look silly and contribute nothing to realism. They can be fun to mess around with, sure...but beyond that I think they're dumb.

If there are a shit load of death animations, then yes, go for straight animation, but ragdolls give a bit more replayability (and they are more fun :p)

Condemned (from the E3 footage) looks like it's going to get an accusation of causing someone to kill someone in the future, it's very violent

Full auto = burnout + guns + blinx (watch the vids on game trailer and you'll see why blinx ;))
 
Yeah continuing that ragdoll discussion.

Halo1 didn't have ragdolls. Plus real-time ragdolls aren't the only way to do things! What you can do, is if you have physics in your animation program, is that you can just keyframe the ragdoll effect, and then put that in-game and boom, looks great and the developers get the intended effect each and every time! :)

See, the animations that IW does are good, they make CoD2 look fantastic :D Can't wait until that's playing on my computer ;)

Quake IV looks really cool also! I hope we get to drive those, or expect something similar to Strider Mod but on QuakeIV soon after release ;)

Gears of war looks sexual, just doesnt seem like my kind of game. COD2, GR3, and Q4 all look much more interesting to play.
