Wolfenstein Trailer

hmm, still not sure on this. I don't really care about the single player and just hope the MP isn't ballsed up.

if done correctly, that could be a very good thing.

The original is still the pinnacle of team/class based multiplayer gameplay as far as i'm concerned. More of the same can't be bad.

Weapon sound effects just as crapy as in Quake 4... Thanks Raven

Hmm, I dunno, but I'll play it anyways.

I saw no Games for Windows icon at the end.
That, the apparent lack of any innovation and all the wuvvwy wittle wainbows all over the goddamn place suggests yet another konsole kiddie toy.

The visual effects look neat. SP game/story could be interesting...

Indeed.

There was a lot of teamwork involved. For example, another person was always needed to activate the M-L-S cheat.

I am slack-jawed at some of the igorance on display here.

Looks pants, Raven really went to shit after Elite Force.

I guess I'm just bitter and twisted. The stereotype player? yeah, maybe.
But the games themselves? dumbed down, big, colourful, cartoony arcade gaming still for some reason aimed at that particular stereotype. I hate how this is impacting on the quality and integrity of PC games - especially sequels to iconic titles like RTCW, which was not only the first fps multiplayer experience I ever had, but one of my most memorable, something I don't want to see tarnished. I am also one of the few who enjoyed the single player game, and it's dark atmosphere.
I reserve my right to cynicism based on current trends.

The latest incarnations of all id franchises have not lived up to their ancestry and I don't think this will.

it looks arcadey with a veneer of "lets put some seriousness into bj by throwing in some bioshock like gameplay" which is ok because rtcw had a forgettable single player game anyways so there's no real expectation to live up to. The MP is where this game is at and if they dont nail it just right the game will be in bargin bins soon after release.

Speak for yourself. I loved the singleplayer campaign in RTCW, and this looks and sounds like crap. I'll give this game a try when it's released but I'm not keeping my hopes up. Especially after the other trainwreck Raven produced *cough* Quake4 *cough*.

of course I'm speaking for myself, who else would I be speaking for? it was boring as all hell, especially because it was released at around the same time as medal of honor: allied assualt which had a superior single player experience. I had been playing the mp demo for months before release; I bought it mainly for the mp

Stern you never speak for yourself, you always speak through the evil liberal smear machine. I'm on to you. Make peace with your internets god.

All I need to hear is that the multiplayer is the same or somehow better and I'll buy this on release. **** the singleplayer I dont give a **** about nazi zombies.

You WILL care. What are you going to do when the Naziocolypse comes? Probably wishing you played some SP Wolfenstein, that's what.

Me too. And so would 1000's of RTCW and ET fans. When you have a multiplayer balance as perfect as RTCW's it makes no sense to mess with the formula.

//rant

I was reading a RTCW2 wants thread earlier today on another forum and some of the suggestions made me want to eat my own head in rage. One guy was asking for iron sights while another wanted vehicles and huge maps. ****tards. Aren't there enough games with these features? It wouldn't be so bad, but I know some twat making the multiplayer portion of RTCW2 is going to think, oooh, jet packs, they're cool!!

//end rant

I feel the same way, I fully understand why things like that are cool in other games, I mean you have your call of duty's and battlefield games that deliver that sort of gameplay, but personaly I think there is alot of room for the classic arcade-small scale shooting style. QuakeWars just wasnt wolfy to me, it took away the one on one personal fighting, and replaced it with, some noob stealing all the tanks and driving them into a river.

I am the same about Half-Life, I dont want them to simply absorb everyone elses features just because a bunch of casual console gamers think they are cutting edge, inovation can come in many forms, it doesnt need to be "open ended vehicular madness with 200 square kilometers of empty terrain and 500 players who havnt got a clue what the objective is!"
