Check it, I've seen it on passworded servers that the server is running it but now theres public ones out! :D

Yeah, my favorite server has it too! :D (I mean my favorite Polish server; Emulated Hosting rocks also [I mean when it's not DOWN] ;))

EDIT: not many servers running VAC2, hopefully more by the end of today or tommorow, thanks for announcing this. :)
 
As I have read on steampowered.com forums, certain servers are beta testing it right now, hopefully in a week or 2 all servers will be able to secure themselves. :)

Why is everyone only noticing this now? Ive been playing on protected servers for like a week, was wondering why there werent any threads about it.

No you weren't, they just recently allowed some servers to beta test VAC2 in CSS.

What do you mean no i wasnt? It was quite a while ago that there was talk of it being beta tested in some servers and afaik those servers didnt have the shield icon or warn you that you could get banned for cheating on them when you joined them. Unlike the servers that again, i HAVE been playing on for the past week, at least.

Oh ok. I guess spamming misleading links that get you money when people click them all over the forum, and which later get deleted by the mods doesnt make you a spammer then.
edit: that post is now useless so can a mod delete it
 
Bad news folks...I was playing on a VAC secured server today and there was this guy obviously using a aimbot and speed hack. Thankfully an Admin finally came on and banned him...hopefully more additions will be added soon.

VAC2 is probably not banning still, probably just registering hacks,etc. Since not all servers have it, I doubt they will be banning.
 
I was just playing on a "vac" proof server and quess what?!?!?
there was a lame speedhacker... so vac2 is definetly not kicking/banning yet :(
 
Sorry to act like a n00b but what does "VAC" mean? "*something* Against Cheaters"?
Shouldn't it be called PAC? "Players Against Cheating"?
 
VAC2 will also be for all source games. I just saw a HL2DM server running VAC.
 
my server browser dosent show the shields at all..... hmm im confused
 
ok now i c also basically u just right click on the lock thing to filter for pw only and then click on secure and the sheild will come up
 
I never saw that shield thingy. :( I must be doing something wrong.
Is this only for CS Servers?
 
Anyone notice that these servers are very slow to connect though and tend to have a jumpy connection in game? I had a stable 50 ping with a stable framerate of 120 and I still recieved major jumps and what not.

They are running the VAC2 beta.....most of the "secure" servers you see are not actually suppose to have VAC2 enabled. VAC2 is currently only in beta testing to try and smooth out connectivity. Admins seem to have it in their heads that it will Ban\Kick anyone that cheats, it will not. VAC2 cheat detection isn't even enabled at this point as far as I know. It's only being tested for network activity. Any server admins that have figured out how to enable VAC2 on thier servers should disable it........this is only prolonging the release
