Last night, I decided that I needed to fix my car, since I was leaving HUGE oil leaks. I knew the part that was the culprit *The Metering Oil Pump...it combines some gas and oil and puts that into the rotor housing to lubricate the rotor/apex seals...rotary woo!*. Anyway, I get the rear break pads all switched out, and everything was great there. So I propped up the front, and we got that part pulled...and go figure, the new part I rebuilt myself wasn't working correctly! *A bar from the throttle cable to the MOP pulls a lever on it which tells it how much gas/oil to inject..*

Well, that piece wasn't closing completely, so it would be injecting oil/gas into the housing at all times, which wouldn't be good...so I had to take that one apart, and the old one, and swap alot of parts out, and in the end, it started working! So we got the part installed *4 hours after the brakes, mind you* and we were going to test out the car to see if it's still leaking. So I drop the car out of the jack, and...lo and behold, we forgot to put tire stoppers/ebrake back on. Car starts rolling down the driveway. Me and 2 other fellows leap to the front and start trying to pull on it to stop the rolling beast. I get the front lip, they get the sides. well, I fall, and the car is essentially pulling me down. My ass is sliding, and my legs are way under the car. One other guy runs for the car and pulls the ebrake 1/2 way down the driveway.

Just imagine 4 guys standing in disbelief at first of a car rolling down the drive way then bolting for the car...pulling on it needlessly *Like 3 guys can stop a 3k lbs car from rolling down a hill :p* Ohh I just wish we had that on video.

Post your funny stories while working on cars/bikes/anything.

My dad hit the horn while I was under the car, I smacked my head into the bottom of the car.

Piz will make a great grand parent.

I passed my test on thursday, whipped off the magnetic plates which had left some rust behind. I scrubbed it off with a polish. The rust came off.

Funny.

Point of post: I passed my test.

Been helping my mate get his car ready for the Modified Gumball Rally (it starts next week - 3500 miles round europe). Xenon headlights fitted, dump valve fitted, induction kit fitted, coilovers fitted, windows and plates tinted, decals applied ... almost ready! :D

Also cleaned my car yesterday - vacced the inside and shampoo'd the outside. Sparkly clean - although ive noticed some stone chips that are going to need some touch up paint.

Congrats on passing your test Reginald

you seem to love your car more that anything

Okay in all truth and seriousness (hard to come by but bear with me)
I own a 1964 Mustangg
Now.

That car is in mint.
And it is my life.

Please dont rape it.
It's too beautiful to be defiled.

Plus I already tried, didn't work.

Anyways.
Fixed the brakes.
Wont be running over gates.
Can't go over 70 without smoking.
Peice of hawt ass.

hah. thats me being ugly sry ><

do you fix those up then sell them?

Nah, I'm just an enthusiast. I've thought about it though. Only problem is I would put more money into them and sell it for less. I Just owned a regular n/a '88 RX-7, now I went up to the '88 Turbo II, and then I'm going to move up to the Twin Turbo 93/94 model *The sexiest one imo*. It's stepping game. The 3rd gen is going to cost me probably around $14k...so I've got some saving to do.

OH SWEET JESUS END OF THE WORLD.

btw thx.
I have an interesting story behind that car.
kinda long
and nobody ever cares
so blahh <333

I had run over something on my way to school and whatever it was poked a hole in my tire. I was less than a mile from school so i just kept driving, and when i got in the parking lot, I was just like "damnit." So I went to class, then when we got out, i went to put on my spare, and I realized that my spare was also flat. I was just like "damnit." and called a tow truck.

Thats the only story I have of my car.

Oh wait, there was also a time when my drivers side window wouldnt go up for two days, but then when i brought it to the shop for them to check it out, it worked, and hasnt broke again yet. Whoo! Two stories!

i stopped it with my mind powers... lol

one time I was walking back to my car after school and I saw some guy with his pants down trying to sechs the back of it. like the trunk?
Awkward.
I kinda just got in and put it in reverse because he wouldn't stop... haha.
I now see him at school and sometimes I run up and dry-hump him.
His names darrel or something lameish.

I had a jack blow out whilst changing a tire once, car fell down, luckily I wasn't under it at the time.

Ive had my share of times when I backed the car up onto some ramps to do exhaust work, and I'd start the car and let out the clutch, forgetting it was in 1st gear...its kinda cool to see a car drag a pair of parking ramps up a driveway one jump at a time...

There was the time I looked down to turn down my stereo so I could hear my buddy in the passenger seat and lost control of my car and slammed into a median on the road..turned away at the last second, so I blew the tire off the rim and that was it, thankfully.

There was the time I heard rattling, so I looked down and turned off my stereo, and looked up and just saw blackness...

The latch broke and the hood flew up at 65mph. Thank god I was looking down, as the top of my head got peppered with shards of glass from the windshield...

Happened to me, too. While changing the fuel filter behind the gas tank...I heard a pop, looked up and just saw the fuel tank coming down at me...thank god the tires were on and i had just put on new shocks, so the tank stopped just short of me and went back up...was the first time I used the jack, I had just bought it at Pep Boys...I nearly shat myself when that happened...

I was at work (U-Haul) and was working on a ladies taillights so she could have the lights on the trailer working too. Well long story short I was leaning on the SUV with the back door open when she goes to shut it...right on my hand. Fortunetly it just bounced off like rubber and I was in no pain. Strange, but allowed me to really freak her out. So I gave her a look like "Are you ****ing kidding me?" and she started sorrying her ass off.

I used to work at AutoZone...replaced a couple brake lights for this old lady...she started her car, I told her to step on the brake...engine revs. I said "No, the BRAKE." Engine revs harder.

"THE OTHER BRAKE!!" lights come on.

I gave her a good 20 minute head start before I left for lunch...

Not sure if this constitutes "working" on my car, but whatever.

I was leaving work recently and pulled out of the garage. Suddenly, the car died and would not start. In the meantime, I am blocking another car trying to get in the garage, which is blocking an entire street full of cars. So I get out and push it out of the way and open up the hood. I have a Mazda RX8 by the way, so My knowledge of Rotary engines is not too great. So with the hood popped I decided to try to start it again, and all of a sudden gas SHOOTS out of the fuel pump spraying everywhere. I walk over and find the Fuel Line is completely separated. I put it back on and prayed that I made it to the dealership. For some reason the clasp used to hold it on was missing, so they had to overnight the part. I didnt have my car for 2 days and had to drive a loaner.

Ohhh man you have an RX-8. I want one of those really bad. I suppose if you ever have any questions about your engine, you can hit me up ;) We both have 13-B's, though your's is way better tuned and such :D

You have an RX7, right? If so, yours is faster than mine :) Anyway, I love driving the 8. It has an overall great feel to it and it rides very smooth. Plus it looks cool. I have had it for 2 months and still find myself sneaking a peak at it out the window. Unfortunately for me, I may be selling it for a 7, for money purposes. Im working on my masters and am in a job thats just below a comfortable pay salary. Plus my student loans destroyed my credit so my monthly payments are ridiculous. :(

LOL I also want an RX-8...its one of the 4 cars I want for my next one to be...

For a 7? Are you going to get a 3rd gen or a 2nd gen? And the 7 may be faster, but am I incorrect in assuming the 13-B in the '8 pulls 230 HP as an n/a? I'd be assuming it's slower due to the weight.

But that is a sexy one. I like red/silver/blue for the RX-8's. Props to you for having one :D

I believe mine is 238HP. I dont know alot about 7's so, would you happen to have some literature on them by any chance?
