ok I'm slowing starting to lose my mind ..I work in an office where I'm the only web designer in my section ..everyone else is sales ..ok the woman in front of me ..is russian, speaks with a really thick accent and doesnt wear deordorant ...her radio is a few feet away from me and all I can hear is her stupid radio station that plays Muzak versions of film scores ...just heard the theme to the Godfather ...not 2 feet beside me there's a woman who's a rocker type ...you know the type: smokes, has a raunchy voice, still wears acid wash tight jeans and listens to dinosaur rock (anything earlier than the 80's, some of you canadians may recognise the mighty "Q" ..Q107) ...they're both competing to see who's radio is the loudest ...both are drowning out my pc radio playing alternative from the 80's ...I think tommorrow I'll bring headphones ...goddam it I cant hear myself think


my question is: when is it appropriate to punch your workmate in the face?

lol i hate fellow workers too, i like to just work by myself most the time. As long as im busy i dont care whats going on. I've gotten into it with my manager a few times. One of em called me an idiot so i was like **** you asshole your the ****in idiot. Next one said something bad i cant remember so kinda kidding kinda not i called him a dick, which he was BAD. Then the dude started lieing n shit about how i wouldn't work blah blah blah... when iw as working harder then most their. (this is a warehouse job by the way, that my grandpa owns... that's why i wasn't fired.) Then the dude drew a picture of me holding a black dildo and vasoline :frown: so let's just say i wrote some stuff about him next to the picture, and things got out of hand... and i really contiplated riding my bike down to the store and just socking the guy in the face a couple of times.

man you should have showed that pic to your foreman ..wtf he ratted you out, you should turn it in

I also hear the same sales pitch over and over and over. Luckily I don't have russian rock or any other music to contend with. I'm the perpetrator in that regard. I suggest a cheap pair of noise cancelling headphones. I went that route first, but they became uncomfortable so I play my stuff loud enough to drown out most of the noise. Nothing I can do will completely remove it though. I guess there's always high powered rifles to consider.

see the thing is that I'm actually a considerate worker ...I never crank my radio cuz I know people need to concentrate, but I'm losing my patience ..it's also their voices when they speak ...think Roz from Fraiser (not sexy) and Latka (from Taxi) both speaking in loud voices

Ok, here's an idea. Go to Canadian Tire and purchase some of those child safety caps that plug into the outlet. Come in early tomorrow and plug up the spare outlets with the caps, then stick some Post-It notes with the writting "Out of Order" above the capped outlets. That'll stop them from plugging in those radios (just pray they don't have batteries). :E

Stern, I don't know if you're planning a purchase, but these 'phones are incredible. I have them, and you literally can't hear a thing when you're wearing them. The sound quality is also fantastic, and they're very comfortable. The only downside is the price, however I'm sure you an afford it

Yeah I'm not competing against any music. Strictly voices. The way my speakers are oriented though I don't think it can be heard by the loudtalkers. The women around me are... shall we say.... grossly overweight. With that comes a booming voice that penetrates walls.

I'm getting a new headset for bf2, I'll just use my old sennheisers for this ...although they're dj headphones and are big and ugly ...maybe that'll give them the hint ...see the thing is I could just tell them to tuen it down ..but I know from experience people get really petty in an office enviroment cuz the space is so limited
