Its a program just like the SETI@Home project except at the moment it is working out the folding of proteins for medical research. Every once in awhile the project that it is working on will change.

I just downloaded it yesterday and its been working for 13 hours so far with no noticable effect on my computers performance. Personally I suggest everyone tries it who doesn't already have a program like this running.

Heck if enough people here are interested we could even create a HL2.net "team" as the site calls it.

I've been using it for a few hours now, and like you have not seen any noticeable performance impact. It's certainly for a more important cause than SETI

Yeah, I used to use the cancer research one.
Seti just seems pointless

I'm not doing any research after SETI. Upped my processor temperature by 10 degrees Celsius. Overheated my computer and my fan fried. :|
