World In Conflict discussion thread.

I'm saying that according to the box, where I'd expect to find the final recommended specs, it says a 6800 is recommended, not a 7600, as you said.

My box lists 6600gt as minimum and 7600gt as recommended, so there may be different boxes in circulations.

im getting the game right now but i've been trying to test out the demo and it hasnt been working. the problem is that when im in game it doesnt let me do anything at all, not even move the camera. so right now im hopeing that the game doesnt do the same thing. has anyone else been having problems with the demo?

Playing the demo right now...it's good so far, even though I have to lower the graphics pretty low to get decent performance lol.

And I don't know about the full game...but in the demo you can save in the middle of missions.

A little off-topic - why do you order games? You have to wait for it to arrive via post, while you could just walk to a shop and buy it there.

Got my copy a day before release. I was able to play the singleplayer, but I had to wait for the multiplayer on friday

the Manhatten video gives me goosebumps, its fricking brilliant :)

Just completed the single player on medium, damn the last mission can be tough

I love World in Conflict. Fantastic gameplay, extraordinary graphics (better than most dedicated First Person Shooters on ground level), although the lack of any possibility for playing the USSR made me sad.

And the post-Cascade Falls mission as well as the Russian submarine depot one were a creme-de-la-creme of the game.

It might be a possibility in the expansion. It would be interesting to get the views and opinions from the echelons of the soviet military.

I'm not saying there will be an expansion, but the fact that the chinese entered the war during the second to last mission, but we never confronted them, gives me an idea that we will see USA/NATO versus USSR/China

same here

i've almost completed the game on normal... and it's been thoroughly entertaining all the way through...
i really like how it jumps back and forth along the time line

does anyone know if an expansion/sequel is in the works?

I have it...can't run it too well. Waiting until I build my new PC at xmas to try getting into it. I've heard that the multiplayer is very good as well.

Great game - unfortunately I had to stop playing becuase my video card was garbage and ran it horribly even on low settings. So now I'm just waiting on getting a new vidya card and getting back online.

WiC online is one of the few RTS games I can play online and actually have a chance at winning. Wheras in Empire Earth, Age of Empires, and Rise of Nations I would get decimated online.

Played this at a LAN party with three others the other day. My computer isn't the best for it, but it works fine enough to enjoy the multiplayer. It's very intriguing, but we found that to defeat the computer opponent you needed to be seriously coordinated.
