World in Conflict New RTS. Amazing looking!

I can't wait for this to come out, finally a new NATO vs Soviet game, although I don't like that it plays out in the US, it'd be more fun in Germany(More realistic scenario) but one can't have it all I guess.:D

The trailer definatly isn't ingame, just look at the screenshots...

I see yanquis and ruskies (or should that be god damn commies?) but no rest of NATO.

I want French, Belgian, German, British, Canadian, etc...

you know that probably wont happen man
the world revolves around the States remember? :flame:

anyways, the level of detail is quite impressive
could be a winner!

$5 says it will only include the US and the russians.

I know, but I can hope. I didn't want an individual army for each, but at least a "Europein NATO Members" side would have been good.

Bob_Marley, keep in mind that this plays out in the US, so there's a chance that the war in Europe is already over and most NATO members over there have been obliterated.:)
Anyway, this is great for me, I'm a huge fan of Cold War era hypothetical wars etc, Red Storm Rising is a great book for anyone interested in the era, by Tom Clancy.:)

...ah...aHH...AAAAATCHUUUU!!...sorry, im allergic to bullshit. Seems like a Red Alert Wannabe, i mean, Soviet VS rest of the world...been there, done that.

Ravioli, difference is that this focuses on realism and not all that sci-fi crap from the C&C series.:) Read the Q&A.
An example is that there's no resource management here, you've got what you're given, nothing less nothing more.. None of the damn mining minerals in the C&C series.:)
Too few good NATO vs Warsaw Pact games these days anyway, aside from hex-based wargames..

First of all, they are going for a subject matter that hasn't really been focused on.

Sure, their was Red Alert, but that was more about Sci-Fi, Massive already stated they are going for realism, just an alternate vision of that what could of happened.

Plus there is a teeny fact that in Red Alert, there was never even a Cold War  and no walls built through Germany, though there might of been an iron curtain.
Put your tesla troops away and get out the M16 and MLRs

Looks sweet but I hope the UI is good. Can't stand these fancy ass games with crap ass UI.

Fixorz

I am interested in this game. Hopefully it will come out around the time Game2
releases so I can have twice the amount of "what if" scenarios! :O

Screenshots look horrible in 95% of games compared to ingame. Dunno what your running on.

Nope, but there are some good "abandoned" one at Home Of The Underdogs(Which I think might still be down sadly), one of my favourites is People's General, from Panzer General fame, it depicts an invasion from China off Taiwan and older parts of China that belongs to Russia these days, it's not Warsaw Pact vs NATO, but it atleast uses a ton of Russian, US and Chinese weaponry.:)
For a good NATO vs Warsaw Pact game overall, there's Red Storm Rising, it's a great subsim with a dynamic campaign, really feels like you're part of the war, it's old and abandonware too, but great game none the less.. No modern subsims have really been able to surpass it..
Aside from that there're some good NATO v Warsaw Pact flight sims out there..
I play'em all, even tho I play'em like shit, I just can't resist playing games based on NATO v Warsaw!<3

.
Sorry for the rant..xD

Oooh, made by the Ground Control guys...
Should be good.

Wow. That trailer was awesome, while I realize that that's not the game, whoever made that did a nice job. What I took to be Vietnam becomes a shopping mall. D-Day is happening over a huge American City (NY? It's hard to tell...). Awesome.

Sets during the Cold War in probably around year of 2000...

Can I say Red Alert with advanced graphics?

I believe the city at the end of the trailer is Seattle, I'm pretty sure sure I can see the Space Needle.

I believe that its set sometime between 1989-90's

Whilst putting Soviet Russia and US against each other does sound like Red Alert, you forget to realise in RA, there was no Cold War, it used Sci-Fi as a means to alter the timeline and thus create its story.

In WiC, there was a definate Cold War, it doesn't quite use sci-fi to achieve its story as opposed to the question, 'What if?'
No sci-fi units appear in the game, just units that were available in that time-period, and it won't be prejudice against certain units, the whole inventory (or as much of) will be available.

No Resource Gathering, just Gathering body counts just like CSS

OOoooOooo nice!

Provided its as fun as the original GC then it should be fantastic.

*jumps into a T-80 and prepares to blow those sorry yanquis away for not including the greatest continent in the world*

T-80? Pfft..
Every armynerds know that out of all the Russian tanks, the T-72 is the best one ; )

Ground Control 2 was alright, nothing out of the ordinary though.

This game looks quite nice, but personally I'm more looking forward to Company of Heroes (world war 2 on the Dawn of War engine) and Rise of Legends (shouldn't need any introduction).

that trailer was awesome i cant wait until it comes out. also look at 'cellfactor' so much physics!!!!

The city at the end was LA. Guarantee it.

Space Needle = Seattle

Its the tower on the right hand side of the screen when the commies jump out.

Unless off course your talking about the beach landing, which I believe takes place in LA

I just found that out by reading Gamespot.

My hypometer just went up to 90%+. GCII was awesome.

I'm going to miss those dome shield units from GCII in this, but the mortars in this should still be awesome.

Its down? I just assumed the reason I couldn't download anything was because they had converted to bitTorrents downloaders. Afterall, that would mean its been down for the better part of a year :sniper:
