World Of Warcraft Expansion Confirmed

yeah read this on Penny Arcade. Interesting
 
Not that excited. Maybe my friends will be.

Expansions are good, though.
 
What would they add? more classes? another race? another continent?!
 
I want an EXTREME profession that includes base jumping, crocolisk wrestling, and racing experimental goblin/gnome vehicles...

Good to hear it. For those who dont play WoW, blizzard add in ALOT of free elements into the game, its awesome. The addon wont just be small like alot of other mmorpgs addons like "New dungeon" since we get them for free anyways, it will be huge, add alot of cool stuff. What we dont know yet.. but Im looking forward to finding out. :)
 
i remember rumours about them including northrend in the expansion, and maybe more classes/races. would be cool, but maybe a little too much to hope for?

thats a good point, alloot of things you'd expect in an expansion (honor system/battlegrounds etc) are free updates.. so maybe this expansion really will be huge... and ofcourse not mandatory. So possibly it will be another continent... along with races (ogre for horde, blood elf for alliance?) and quite probably a higher level cap with new dungeons etc.

but i find it hard to believe they'll do this.... they are doing so much for free as it is. do they really have the manpower?
 
Yes, you would have expected Blizzard to be working on this addon for some time, I know they havn't got a release date yet. But they always have a master plan an just like Warcraft 3 I would expect them to have been developing this addon since the release of World of Warcraft. Anyway, my idea would be that they are going to increase the level cap reduce the time it takes to get to level 60 fill in loads of spaces in quests such as level 49-52. Loads of people have problems here. Also as Oldagerocker said you could proberly expect ogre and bloodelves. They are already in the game its just you don't get to actually play as them. Personally I would like more classes and a higher level cap with a level speed increase.
 
They wont add Blood elves oldage, since blood elves are not part of the Aliance or the horde. If anything.. they might add Naga.
 
If they do add them, there going to have to come up with some lame reason why they join the horde or aliance.... Hope they dont.
 
Hmmmm, may I ask why Halflife2.net has an advertisment which makes money from World of Warcraft activitise. In the NDA it clearnly states its illegil to make money from World of Warcraft in any way, this includes selling gold for real money.

It's not HL2.net, it's the ads themselves that detect keywords from the text body.
 
man i wonder how the Hero class system will work...i reckon it will be starting at lvl 0 again, but you will now hve a special frame around your portrait like elite mobs or rare mobs. and i wonder if you have to do some incredibly dificult raid instance or event to get this hero class to activate on your character itll be sweet i reckon.
cant wait for blackwing lair
cant wait for blizzard to seem some sense and stop making the warrior sets tank specced only twats, our best sets hve been nerfed to instances only pretty much

That is the purpose of a warrior. Thats the role they take on in the game. If you wanted to be a dmg dealer you should have been a rogue or mage :D

I don't think they'll add Hero classes for free, plus i don't even think Blizzard have got Hero classes worked out in their heads yet. I'd like to see a Neutral race playable, like the Goblins that can attack both Horde and Alliance if they please and vice versa. They'd be the ultimate PvP race and most noob-unfriendly :) But there would be diminishing returns for Horde/Alliance killing Goblins and vice versa.

Blizzard are ace, they have gone to my favourite games developer after WoW...they might not be able to keep full control over such a big MMO (don't forget, this is the first one they've made) but they do try really hard...you can see the efforts they make. I think they got the manpower for a massive expansion. They must make around £2million a month on accounts, especially with the release in the Eastern world that is supposed to be big as well.

I don't think they could make another instance harder after Blackwing Lair...at least not for some time. Blackwing Lair is supposed to be even harder than Molten Core...i know that only one clan on my server has beat Ragnaros and they was alliance (11k alliance 4k horde on mine). Horde did try and got pwned off Lucifron ...the first boss :p

Hell Blizzard has been my favorite Developer when I discovered the oringal Diablo, a very fun simple game.
With Starcraft they made them more than my favorite....
They made us.... BFF's...Best Friends Forever...(note that only popped into my head thx to Eric Cartman).
 
Chances are hero classes *will* be a free update. The way they will work will mean you NEED to buy the addon to get your charater higher level (Say if you get to 60, then go to a hero class). Very few addons too mmorpgs do this.

Addons are what there called.. Add ons, they add things to the game, but you in no way need them. Having only people who get the addon be able to gain the next class would be stupid. Addons more likely going to have new races, places to go, and maybe new classes for the new races.
 
I only just got back into the game last night and now there are Hero classes coming soon? I'm just getting used to the Honour System and Battlegrounds, i need more time dammit!

An official Blizzard rumour, actually :p

Blizzard have'nt released any information about what a Hero class will be and i don't even think Blizzard know or they'd of give some info about them by now.

Yes! That would be pretty cool actually. A horde equivilant to the Gnomes. Though it probably wouldn't work since the Goblins are supposed to be neutral.

Booty Bay = Neutral
Ratchet = Neutral
Gadgetzan = Neutral

Goblins are the main neutral race in the game. Two of the biggest places you go at 30-40, then again at 45-52ish are run by goblins, which are neutral.

It wouldn't really work.

They could make a new race based on goblins though.

There going to be the next lot of classes, for example a hunter might be able to take a hero class "Demon Hunter" which gives them ...shadowy skills or somthing :p Thats what we know so far.. There just going to be the next level of classes.
