im sorry if this has been discussed before, but, id like to see what all your opinions on the worst commercials ever and discuss them, mine would have to be

AOL commercials! why? they brag about how fast it is, when its as slow as dial-up and crap, and "NEW AOL 9.0 FOR BROADBAND... BUY IT TODAY" makes me sick :sniper:
 
I don't like those satellite tv commercials that make digital cable out to be the devil. Everyone who has digital cable clearly knows it's superior :p.

I don't like those life alert commercials either... Not because of the product, but because of the actors in the commercial. They are so unconvincing.
 
Um, I was thinking those people were actual USERS of it.. hence why they seem to be 'crappy' actors. Like the old woman who goes "The first time I fell in that room over there" and it looks to be a non actor.

Or maybe I'm just fooled :p
 
That new Yoplait commercial with people who have huge mouths is really pissing me off.
 
I find the life alert commercials to be some of the most entertaining on television. Those and a few choice commercials for the old people mobiles are simply hilarious.

“Ethel and Gertrude went to the mall, the Grand Canyon, and the moon today thanks to their Ultra Scooter 500”.

Never seen that, but they do have an ad for Petit Filous with this 9 year old girl who's really really h- ...Ahem. I've said too much.

The Direct Line one with the two old biddies is irritating.
The soup advert with those disemobodied blue furry arms - a lacklustre rip-off of the Inner Self adverts, which were amazing.
Any shaving ads.
ALL ads for petty claims sue whoever for whatever ads. Fall off your chair? Blame someone else!

How bout the orbitz commercial for the orbitz commercial jet?? That commercial must have been made by a stupid 5 year old. You gotta see it just to see how stupid it is.

I concur. In ONE hour watching tv about 2 weeks ago I saw about 15 of those damn things... seriously, there were like 2 or 3 per commercial break... and after the second time I was having fond daydreams of bludgeoning whoever thought them up with a large, heavy blunt object.
 
Thirded on the Jamster adds- they appeared far too often, and were about as funny as genital electrocution, which, coincidentally, I'd say the perpetrators are coming close to earning.

Those awful sheep adverts from the Co-operative. Sheep singing songs about groceries. My god...

And McDonald's continued insistence to use their current slogan. The adverts themselves aren't too bad (except maybe for that brain-boggling ad regarding the "different people" and what they liked), but the "i'm lovin' it" straight afterwards makes me twitch. It's annoying! In a verbal and textual sense! Talk and write properly! In fact, drop the damn motto altogether!

It's similar to EA and their "Challenge Everything" logos I've been abused with over the years...
 
Everything that Mcdonald's has on TV is annoying. They have the shittiest food ever made and they seem to think that marketing to everyone except black people is pointless. I mean seriously, how many times do they have to be like "Yo G-unit, I gots 2 be havin' my motha fukin' McRibizzle foo. I'm lovin' it yo."

It's not that I'm a biggot, I think it's Mcdonald's that is racist. They only market with "hip-hop" (Why do they call it that?) and gangsta talk. The other day we were going dirt biking and on the radio it said "You gots to be givin me 'da bib 'cuz I'm eatin' da McRib." If I were black I would be offended.
 
I think it was for Charmin or Bounty, it was two sisters trying to out-compete each other for which one was better. But it was being serious :/

The ones where the bear wipes with (name-brand toilet paper) and gets this pleased almost orgasmic look. Just makes me think 'what exactly is that bear doing with that roll of toilet paper'.
 
Oh, and another commercial that I hate:
The Kraft Dinner commercial. These little bastards (the kids) manage to broadcast their bullshit on national television and force their hard working parents to feed them Kraft Dinner everyday.
Then, two of those brats give some sort of 'knuckle' high-five. I'm not sure what the hell it is called because I'm not into this hand sign stuff you see the "gangsters" do in television.
 
I'm beginnning to greatly despise the Old Navy jingles that they have been doing lately. You can tolerate them once or twice, but eventually it immediately wants to make you change the channel whenever they come on. I found them THAT annoying.

And yes, the Charman commercials with the animated bears is pissing me off too. It was...different at first, but now it's the same ******* thing everytime!! And don't get me started on McDonalds.


This thread has made me angry.
 
3/4th's of all commericals on TV are crap. The others are either very entertaining, or just not crap.

That said... I hate commercials that repeat a phone number more than 2 times to drill it into your head. Those make me want to murder somebody and then sue the commercial for making me do it.

Funny commercials are good too, but only for the laugh.
I think the best one ive ever seen is that ad for the honda accord, with the rube goldberg(sp?) setup using all the car parts.

Don't know if it's broadcasted around the world, but here in Australia, we used to have a TV ad for Tooheys beer, it was about a tongue that escaped this guy's mouth to get beer for him while he was asleep, and Benni Benassi's "Satisfaction" track was being played during the ad. :x

Although they are funnier now that they have to put warnings and all

another one i hate is
SHOUT! cleaner stuff, then a oxy-clean commercial comes on saying that SHOUT! sucks
"DOES IT WANT TO MAKE YOU SHOUT? YEAAH!!!!"

The Quizno's commercials with the singing puppet mice or whatever the hell they are.

And, the "It's a diet coke with lime thing" commercial.

:) We watched that one in physics class last semester. It was all nice and fun until he started pausing every single time something happened and asked for the physical concept behind it :|. And now we have to make our own rube goldberg projects, which should be fun when I actually get started on it....

As for the worst commercials, McDonald's and Old Navy have already been mentioned. I also dislike the Target commercials. The colors are so bright, they make me cringe. I used to hate those Progresso commercials, where they would always be saying how their soup is so much better than Campbell's. Gah, stop attacking my Campbell's soup :(. And at the end the lady would always be like, "Campbell's is for babies. Progresso is for grown-ups.... You're eating Campbell's? Do you need a bib?" and she said it with such a disdainful tone. Arghhh, sickening.

There was a 30 second commercial that used to play all the ****ing time here. It consisted of a group of perhaps thirty men saying "Call Hughesco at 654-HOME today" over and over and over and over and over and over again. That was it...that was the whole thing...

That commercial made me so angry.
 
Re-reading this thread has me laughing hysterically.

Look at how mad commercials are making people. They are seriously enraged.
 
Any advert that uses sex to sell magazines, newspaper, yogurt, etc, etc, etc, i.e. items that have nothing to do with sex. Oh, and every single advert for a man's or woman's perfume.

The Enzyte commercials always come on when I'm watching TV with parents or other people that it makes it really uncomfortable to sit through the whole thing with.

And they always play in pairs.. so it's two times the torture.

So much shit is now ripped off the internet and placed into phone messages/backgrounds/ring tones. Here is something fun to do, if you know someone with that crazy frog tone, ring them over and over (Make sure they don't actually answer so you don't waste money). Eventually, they will get so god damn sick of that Crazy Frog tone will be more hated than Cheesecake on Mars :LOL:

Definately the Norwich Union ones, but also the hsbc ones, i think it is hsbc, with the singing staff members and that annoying black man in it.

The best would have to be the beer advert, think it was for Worthingtons, but it's the one with Harry Enfield doing a piss take of the Pedigree Chum adverts about breeding humans and the beer giving them good coats and marrowbone.
 
What tops my worst list: the Magic Mountain commercials with the old man dancing. These are really creepy!
