The multiplayer game finder is the slowest thing on the face of the earth. It takes 5 seconds for the down arrow to work, then when you find a game that says it has 28/32 (or whatever) and you join, it says its full. I have spent the last 20 minutes trying to get into a game without luck. They need to address this somehow in a patch.

the first patch is supposed to allow 3rd party apps to find and launch games. Which Ive always preferred anyway. the BF series server browsers have ALWAYS been bad imho.

ASE (All Seeing Eye) can currently search and filter servers, but to join you need to write down the IP address of the server you want, and then type it into the "Connect to IP" in the server browser in BF2.

Yeah it probably is the worst server browser ever. Luckily the game makes up for it :) As for the 28/32 being full, you'll get that in any server browser in any game, because between the time you refreshed the list and tried to join the server, other people have already connected.

It is slow because you are searching for every server and it is still updating. Try adding a few filters(like ranked) and it won't do this.

The filters are crap too. If you try to filter FULL servers it still comes back with about half the list being full up. It is probably the worst browser ever.

Also, if you run a third party browser app over it how does that work? Does it sit on top of it or do you have to somehow minimize the BF2 app? It seems kind of awkward. Why can't they just program something reasonable in the damn game?

yeah it sucks, it crashed 3 times in a row on me last night forcing me to manually turn off the computer each time as it locked-up, pos it is.

I agree with this thread. I believe the entire menus in Battlefield 2 are the worst ever.

If the game gets no communication from the server IT CRASHES!!!
I have to press CTRL + ALT + DEL to get out of it.
It totally sucks. I wish I at least could abort or something...

Luckily, like some bloke said, the game itself makes up for it.

yeah ctrl-alt-delete usually works for me too, last night it didnt, very annoying, had to reboot and then shut down background tasks all over again 3 times in a row, musta been an hour before i got into a game.

sometimes i dont even refresh the browser for fear of lockups, i just pick 1 from the list that comes up first time around. It'll be patched i hope.

I find that if you click anything in the browser within the first few seconds of it loading, while the server list is empty, it will crash and I will have to reboot. It's for this reason that I just use the "Connect to IP" function.
