Worth changing CPU?

Will there be an appreciable difference in performance between my 3500+ and a 4000+? The 4000+ is the best CPU I can afford, so an FX model is not an option.

Would I be better off just waiting a little longer to buy a 7800 GT to replace my 6600 GT?

That's a good processor you have. I'd save your money for now and upgrade when you really need to.

3500+ to a 4000+ is not a good buy. Not enough performance difference at all to justify the cost.
