Woudn't Alyx be 10-11?

With regards to Barney being 10 years older: at the end of Blue Shift, you can't really tell if he was teleported into present time or if he was possibly delayed by 8-9 years (or x years) similar to how Gordon was delayed in HL2.

Although that is really quite a stretch - you would think that Barney would have said something to Kleiner, so Kleiner wouldn't be all surprised about discovering this "new type of teleportation" like he is when you finally turn up a week later.

Still, something for people to ponder. And yes, I know you see Gordon getting dragged past the window unconscious, but there's still one teleport between then and when you arrive outside with the scientists.

That's kind of what I was getting at. Either the time space continuim on Xen is much faster than that of Earth, or the teleporters loosing power might cause 'jumps' forward (or maybe even backwards) into time across dimensions.

I don't think Gordon was put in a stasis at the end of Half-Life. I think he was just caught somewhere in time (notice the Iron Maiden reference) and it took ten years or whatever for him to get back, or something.

Just like when Gordon and Alyx teleport back to Kleiner's lab in Half-Life 2, they think it only took them some seconds, while they were in in fact lost for a week.

I always thought that Alyx was around 6-8 in HL1, and now around 19-22. Which gives around 15 years between HL1 and HL2.

I think Eli knows that Alyx has a crush on Gordon, probably since back at Balck Mesa and especially after Gordon became a legendary figure. Eli probably can also see how Gordon ogles her too. But he's not too concerned because he trusts in her judgement and ability to look after herself, and he trusts that Gordon wouldn't do anything to hurt her. Plus, there's the suppression field thing, it's not like they're gonna do anything.

Gordon's 26 in HL and most likely the same in HL2 incase your wondering

when i clicked on this thread i was thinking "whys alyx 'in service'?" since 10-11 means '___ in service' in the ten-codes

edit: 10-11 also means 'on duty'

i think danimal has found the first mistake in the story. well done!

No, for one it isn't a mistake, because it isn't proven. The picture could have been taken many, many years before the resonance cascade.

Also, it isn't the first. The first is when Barney said "Now about that beer I owe you". Because that wasn't Barney Calhoun who said it to you, it was just some security guard. Gordon Freeman never really new Barney Calhoun.
