Would it be tight if HL2 came with a Guncon2?

I was just remembering playing Time Cirisis 3 at the mall... and I was wondering if you guys also think it pwns to play a game with that. I mean, there's recoil and everything, but it may be a little unbalanced with the quick reloading. I guess there would be different recoil amounts for each gun- like the shotgun would whip back way far... yea. Also, think what MP would be like- snipping some newb standing by a trashcan lookkin' for some grub when all he's gonna find is HS!

That reminds me of old arcade games like Lethal Enforcers and House of the Dead. Eww.

even worse that reminds me of the movie "House of the Dead".

Quick answer: No, it wouldn't be cool. It would be dumb.

Think about trying to move with one hand and using the other hand on a lightgun. Ignoring issues such as how close you'd have to sit to even be able to do that, it just wouldn't work well. At all.

Any ideas on how you would move through the game and look around with a light gun? Would you have to use the keyboard with one hand to walk around? If so, what would replace the mouse's free look ability? Would there be a little D-Pad (or an analog stick) on the gun to look up/down and left/right? Would it need one player to control all the movment and looking while another controls the light gun? Wouldn't using a sniper rifle (especially zoomed in) feel/look weird if you're holding a pistol? Couldn't someone just open the gun and disable the recoil mechanism to get an edge in multiplayer?

I don't think it is a good idea.

I mean, I love the Time Crisis games... but HL2 with light guns would suck unless it was a mod where you ran along a predetermined path (like the Time Crisis games).

Light guns are only good for rail shooters. Also, you're forced to stand a few feet back in the arcades so it won't be stupidly easy. They also work for consoles because people usually play a few feet back from their TV. With the PC it would just be retarded, and not nearly as fun as normal mouse/keyboard control.

Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

No. I just have sense enough not to humour this kind of opinion. :sniper: :x

I really hope it doesnt. Half-Life 2 is a First Person Shooter, not an Arcade Shooter. It would be too hard to do unless Gordon moved on his own, while you did the shooting. And that would totally screw up Half-Life2.

I don't think the lightgun would be tight, it would probably be pretty cheap if it ships with half-life 2 so it would be pretty loose. Oh and light guns are teh suck.

Wait! Lets delay the game till 2006 so we can implement the light gun! No...infact, lets use an eye-toy instead. We have to headbutt all of the enemies in HILARIOUS style and generally make a fool of ourselves!!11one What a great idea!! No...even better...delay the game till 2014 so we can control the game with our brains by using plug-in electrodes eliminating the need for a keyboard and mouse.....

Yeah it would be 'tight'....but hey 'bro' my 'dawgs' say you aren't 'street' so how about we 'duke' it out 'beatch'. Homeboy shit is depressing.

Not to mention, it wouldn't work for anyone with an LCD screen.

If you added the GunCon, It would be just like the rest of the arcade shooters...CRAP
