:dozey: No, it should be free, on certain conditions though... if you own Half Life 2, and it is detected on Steam you have the choice to receive HL 1 via Steam. That is how I see it.

HL1? I guess you mean CS:S.... ? :dozey:

:hmph: What the **** are you talking about? Yes I DO mean Half Life 1, my post has no relation between the whole CS:S beta-download-via-steam-if-you-own-CS:CZ. But downloading CS:S wouldn't hurt either if you own Half Life 2  .

I wouldn't pay full game price for it ($80-$90AUD) but I'd get it for $40AUD or thereabouts, if only so I could play a level of HL and then play a level of HL:S just to have a laugh at the difference.

I would, if the graphics have been changed enough like CS:S, I wouldn't pay for a version of HL1 where you can just throw boxer around and that being the only difference.

I think it should be released as a pack, and can be used only if you have an original Half Life CD.

Just my opinion...

I'd play it, but I wouldn't pay for it. The ragdolls and shadows look very nice on...certain screenshots.

If they changed sum aspects of the game, like physics and A.I then i would

Clicked no as is, but with a qualifier.

As other have said: if it was redone completely I would probably buy it. And if it had extra stuff, perhaps, that might make it more worthy.

I would think if it was decent enough and came with BS and OP4 I (and they were converted also) than I might buy it. Would also be good if parts of it were re-written, or extra areas were added etc.

I think that's probably my main point: if there is new content and extras than I would be more incline to buy it, but probably not just a straight conversion to Source and little else.

I would buy it.

But then again, I'd buy anything that has the HL logo on it, and has the thumbs up from valve :p

I would buy it if I found it cheap somewhere, just because I want to have the full story in source, almost considering them both one game.

No, but mabey if there were some major changes. Gfx dont mean enuff for me to warrent paying ouit $50 for a game i already have.

They wouldnt dare make the price 50 bucks.. more like 30.. but still.

It wouldn't make sense to pay for Half-Life: Source. It's basically a mod, and judging from what we've seen on Steam, it should be free to all Half-Life 2 owners.

Someone will make a mod of the original Half-Life anyway, even if Valve decides not to put a price on their version. Either way, eventually we will be playing the original Half-Life on the Source engine for free no matter what.

I cant wait to play all the custom single player games people make... it will "pwn"

you guys think theres gonna be a limited supply of collectors editions? ive put about 80 bucks aside for that sole purpose of getting it so i was just curious as to wheter or not id definately be able to get it from like my local ebx.

I wouldnt Pay for it unless it came with the collectors edition of HL2 which i'd buy anyway.

I'd love to play it, but I'd have issues with paying for it. Perhaps if it was cheap and bundled with Op4 and Blue Shift

like someone above said if it's only a grapfical overhall and they said it can be easy to port stuff over why pay for it if it's just a graphical overhaul?

I'd definately buy it..

I also want a HL2 or Valve Software thong. A skimpy one.

sure, 20$, provided they remodeled the bad guys and such. so it is up to modern graphics level.

Well, they didn't. That's the main reason I wouldn't pay for it. It's essentially exactly the same game.

I prefer continuity than better graphics.

I just hate entering a level were theres a metal shelf in a room with no access except through a ventilation shaft (A room with no visible door). Although there was no such room, you get the idea what I'm trying to get at.

I would pay five squid for it

Yes, if they revamped the soldiers in the game, because they were the one thing who's shitness shone through in all levels (taking too many shots to die) and generally having crap tactics.

Oh, and adding new 'quirks' to the game.

I won't be paying for it if it's not ported as CS was, if that's the case.. then it want it free! I want some updated models and not the same thing.

I would want to know.. if I already own a copy of HL1, would I be able to have it for free? I don't see how it would be hard to port hl1 to hl2.
