Make sure you slow down the movements of the mouse at least. And have joystick options.

Well, it looks like a 'go for it' from the community.

We're not asking you to live up to Goldoneye, just something thats fun.

In other news, I agree with everything the Mullinator says. Fullscreen would be different, a mouse and keyboard would be a great improvement, and to avoid issues, just call it '00 agent' mod or something. Then a patch could be released by 'someone' that changes it.

That's where the community comes in. With Each release, the development team will be looking at and reviewing community feedback, and adjusting the game according that what feedback wants. What the community wants is what it'll get. So if they community wants it slowed down, then it will be :)

Ok well just to add some more stuff, we WONT be using anything related to bond. So basically the characters/game will have generic names. So far in our internal Alpha Stages we're using the name 00Source, we think it's fine for now.

And as for 'It'd never play, or feel, anything like Golden Eye, though.' Who sais? I mean, everyone on the mod team has the game, there's no reason why our programmers/coders couldn't create the game to make it feel like goldeneye. You'd have to remember though, that with a mouse/keyboard, the gameplay would be more unique to PC gamers, probably alot more fun too.

Just using a m&k would result in a compleley different experience. It will always feel like a pc shooter using GE material (imo)

GL - but I highly doubt it'd end up 'alot more fun'. We are, after all, talking about one of the greatest shooters and multiplayer games ever made (there are very few retail pc games that can even begin to compare imo - let alone fan made mods)

That said, I hope it all goes well :)

00 Agent is the name we're using along with 00Source. Anyone have any other cool names for the mod that wouldn't infringe on copyrights?

Ok, maybe this isn't such a bad idea. Just make sure you map the levels correctly down to the inch.

James Pond- Goldenguy 0007

Our team of Mappers have already started reviewing every GoldeneEye Multiplayer level to each specification, the levels structurally will be identical. We'll jsut have more decoration/visual effects implemented.

I happen to know that James Pond is a popular (hah!) game involving a secret agent fish, so bang goes a good idea.

I bet this mod will turn out similar to Goldeneye on an N64 emulator (which I still play), only much more better suited to PC.

Um, then don't call him bond. Call him pond.

There was a game called James Pond on Sega Master System, one of my favorite old Sega games too. You played a frog with a tux, and it has some of the wierdest enemies ever, like playing cards with mosquito wings. Very cool game.

There was a GE mod for HL, it was basicly just DM with GE map layouts, weapons and some models. Cant remember what it was called.

You're not going insane...I am almost positive I created a topic on this subject..

I would love to see Goldeneye on Source, I have been wanting it since I first heard of Source mods.
