I have been wondering about this. For example, lets say that if you threw trash on the ground, you could get incarcerated for 10 years.
Or if you did drugs, 20+ years.
Jaywalking as 5 years.
Of course, there is no moral qualms against jaywalking except that its breaking the law. But if you were able to be punished with 15+ years in prison, would you still do it?
May sound ridiculous, but still.
