Open W_Alyx_Gun.mdl in HLMV, and check out the anims.

It's a pistol that tranforms into a SMG or rifle, does she actually use that in the game?

I never noticed it :O
 
Don't think she does, prolly her way of switching between guns ingame
 
Just noticed that the 1st person stun batton model is still there too.
 
each day that passes you see more and more stuff that didn't make it to the game but was kept in the gcfs..
 
I guess its still there for the sven co-op guys though :)
 
How do i open the stuff in the model viewer? I don't have all those models in the models directory.
 
sven coop will be like the best mod evar for hl2 when it does come out

Open your GameInfo.txt file in sourcesdk/launcher and change the 240 to 220, save it, then make a copy of it in sourcesdk/bin.

Now run HLMV.exe (you have to run it from a shortcut or the exe, not the SDK menu).

Done :)

what number do you have to put for HL:S ?
 
I'm not sure, do the 'Make a shortcut to this game on my desktop' thing, and look at what it points at.

It will say blah/steam/steam.exe -applaunch CODE.

Pop that code in and it should read HLS. I'm not sure if it will work for HL1 based games, but it might.
 
after a bit of research, i've compared the numbers to the number in the command line for verifying the CGF by Steam, and you should put 280 to get HL:S. however, i get HL2 with it. wth ?
edit : the number you come up with the method you mention is also 280
 
Did you change both GameInfo.txt files to 280?
 
just tried that, it still browses HL2 stuff
(not that it should have done otherwise :/)
 
VALVe must have not added support for HLS to HL2MV then :(

I guess you could try dumping your HLS GCFs into a folder then dragdopping the .mdl onto HLMV.exe, but I don't have HLS so i can't test it.
 
yeah, cross-renaming half-life 2 content.cgf and half-life source.cgf, as well as drag dropping an extracted model with CGFscape errors out (not the same error though), drag dropping to an older build of HLMV (i.e for HL1) makes HLMV hang up.
 
She uses it the first time in Nova Prospekt where you first talk to her dad in the little pod thingy. I was like.... gimme that.
