WoW = definately NOT "wow"

Love her.
warrior2vl.jpg

My Night elf warrior. Got a human paladin on the same server, but pretty low level so no point taking a screenshot as she is wearing basic starting stuff.

I wish i had it... i've had to restort to using my friend's account to play with a Tauran Druid.

awww, look at the ickle druid disembowel plainstriders! W00t! yay!

WoW is "wow", anyway. At least they don't have to resort to calling Everquest II everwait II or something. Or Evershit II. Jeez, stupid ad.

(If you don't know what i'm tlaking about, there's an ad for EQII with letters going "why play WoW?" and then "WoW" is revealed to be "World of Waiting")

THe reason it's a world of waiting is because their subscriptions are going through the roof, stratosphere and cat.

"what cat?"

Meh. Everquest ownz everything.

The only characters WoW has are the ones I never wanted to play on EQ. Are they going to release anymore classes/races?

They have a hunter but that is just like a ranger on EQ.

The mage is like a mixture of the EQ magician and EQ wizard.

The Warlock seems to be like EQ's necromancer. done that.

The game play is so similar though so I can jump right in and thrive.

WTT WoW for EQII PST

lol

the priest is like EQ's cleric with no armor and slow-cast heals... not sure how WoW ballanced for those short-comings

Ill probly use the hunter or something cuz i never did get far with my ranger on EQ.

EDIT: but i have discovered guns and Taurans . see next post

I finally found my character!!

No more complaining from me

I picked a Turan Hunter.

His name is fitting for a Turan. "Descusting"

lol thats his name!

You can find me on Llane server

Hes got a rifle [cool] and he has cooler weapon animation then the dark elf i think.

HE is going to be LE33T!

Im going to level to 60. watch how fast I do it

Tauran are not Disgusting! Wah!

Nice chain mail Ritz. Looks shiney, sharp and beatiful. All my characters have holes in thier clothes and shit. lol Im so pooor .

Someone put a gun in Descustings mail box OK? :naughty:

****in shit man! I spelled it wrong! That bites. Im never going to get anywhere in this game if I keep starting over. LMFAO. :(

Thanks for pointing that out... boy I would be pissed if i got alot of levels.

Don't create a character when u have a buzz, you will spell the name wrong and begin to think that its right.

Stop comparing WoW to EQ and nit picking things out that 'EQ' has...or just quit WoW and go back to a dying game known as EQ1 and 2.

Oh and while all this spelling correction is going on, its "Tauren" not Tauran or Turan :p. I play a Tauren Hunter, currently only level 27. Hunters rock for gameplay and PvE. /moo

Sorry for the double post. The mage has the best looking/sounding projectile and has the highest damage ablilities in the game.

Not really. The Hunter has the highest 'overall' DPS. The Mage is good for DPS right at the start of attacking and quickly slows down, the Hunter has amazing DPS with the pet combined at range all the time. However, PvP is a different matter..A Hunter will kill any class in PvP if they don't move into melee range (then there DPS quickly goes to shit), except maybe a mage, depending how clever they are.

***K yeah :D

My new best friend Eg gave me a friends key :D...just wondering does it ever expire ?, cause i'm gonna reg with it this Saturday cause i'm on holiday for 2 weeks:)

Also, I dont have to enter any payment info for this trial do i :(

It lasts 10 days so don't register it before your holiday :p

Yeah you need to enter a form of payment to register. After the 10days are up you need to go out, pay £30 for WoW and carry on from where you left off (with the 10 day account characters - or new ones if you wanted to).

Yeah, have fun with the hunter... I know I am... I started one on one of the new servers (Firetree) a little over two weeks ago and I'm level 48 already... have to post a picture of her later when the maintainence is over. ;)

Anyway to bypass the payment info ?, I heard you can by using a gamecard or something ? :)

Quite true. I'm a lvl 36 Hunter and i took out a lvl 40 Rogue the other day when i caught him with a trap that stuck him just inside of my ranged attacks. I got something like 110 DPS. It was great.

Hunters suck in PvP, that is about the only class you exceel against, but you still have nothing to stop him from getting to you unless you are really good at kiting. My brother is a hunter and I am a Shaman, that should make for a very good combination in PvP.

When you have Blessing of Protection and Blessing of Freedom as a pally it isn't hard getting into melee range of a hunter. I dont think their pets are very effective either, they're good to distract NPC's and let it take the damage, but players simply ignore them.

I've been using a Pally (Paladin) all day and They are great tanks. I took on 4 bandits the same level or 1 level lower than me at once no problem. they do good damage and don't take alot of damage.

A little boring so far becuase they don't have any extra melee attack abilities.

100th post!!!!!!!!!!! owned!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spam?

The paladin gets a buff (temporary stat improving ability)that among other positive effects, it boosts attack speed 40% for 30 sec.

Most his spells are instant cast.

I can charge into anywhere knowing that I have his armor and abilities. He is a tough character.

This is a cool character to use - maybe my favorite so far

Can someone please enlighten me as to how I can equip a weapon that has its weapon type in red?

for example, the paladin starts with a hammer.

I want to equip a 1 handed sword and a gun/rifle!

How?

You need to learn how to use the weapons at various weapon trainers. For example, you can't learn how to use Maces anywhere, its a class trait only. And Rogue's get the ability to dual wield at level 10. And so on

I haven't come across any weapon trainers yet. :(

What classes can dual wield?

Rogue
Warrior
Hunter

Paladin cannot?

Paladins can not dual wield, you should be using a shield when you can too. That class is known as doing the least damage in the game.

Im familiar with the life of a tank from playing EQ obsesively.

They are to act as a meat-shield and absorb all the damage for the team at the same time doing the least amount of damage outside of maybe the shaman or priest - whos job it is to heal the tank.

My Paladin hit level 10 and I spoke with a weapons trainer so now I use 2 handed swords instead of unarmed.

He is strong at this level, his buffs are probably the best in the game for groups especially, and probably perfectly compliments a group with or without a healer.\

For example, at level 10:

- 20 minute buff for 55 more armor for everyone in the party
- 5 minute buff 21 more attack power for everyone in the party
- 30 second pally buff that increases attack speed by 40%
- ~60 HP heal to any player character.
- spell to make you invincable for 6 seconds but you cannot use any abilities or attack
- others...

Most of his abilities are instant cast, and have no cool-down, also they don't use alot of mana.

Now I just need to save up a little more and find the gun trainer so I can use my rifle to pull mobs with.

Damn.

Can they use bows?

Or do they get an ability to pull with? How am I supposed to be a tank without being able to pull?

When will I get my taunt or whatever they call it in WoW?

IMO: Paladin is fun once you train to use a 2 handed sword or even a one handed sword

You can increase the amount of damage they can do by using a 2 handed sword. The thing is they are like a brick wall to take down.

They should be able to do pretty fair damage.

I like them cuz they probably have the highest armor class in the game or at least on par with a warrior

Someone once said that you only get out of WoW what you put into it.

And... wooden weapon? Are you serious?

Haha, Virus, for being a so-called 'EQ Vet', you don't really have a clue do ya? :p

Paladins suck for damage. They are probably the weakest class for damage actually...the only reason they are good for pvp is because they are similar to cats, not 10 lives but 3 lives. I can't remember the spells but they have spells that give them protection against anything and can cast heal spells while its on meaning they can heal back to full...then after that they have another spell that does the exact same thing and heal back to full.

They have high armour but not as much as a warrior and they can't wear Plate armour till level 40 either. Highest Warrior on thottbot has 7250 AC and highest paladin has 6500.

They can't use bows/guns what-so-ever.

They can't pull...they are shite for tanking, thats where warriors come in.

What do you mean taunt? my pet has taunt to take aggro from me even if i'm outdamaging my pet 3:1. Paladins don't have any taunt as far as i know like that (or if they do, it won't be that good...Warriors will have a good taunt if paladins have one to).

Tbh, paladins suck for the most part of pvp, only in actual combat they do well, but for going round killing people they suck. I was teasing a level 38 paladin with my level 23 hunter (when he was level 23) because i KNEW he'd never in a million years catch me yet he still chased me for about 5 minutes while i ran in circles.

I used to think "how can a warrior be much harder than a paladin as they both use melee weapons" but i've been told its the warriors spells/abilities that add loads to there DPS and there attributes are more towards the things that add to damage (i think).

Mage easily outdamages a hunter. And the only slowing down of damage is done to not take the agro, which a mage can easily do if they nuke the mob. I have yet to see a hunter in a full party take the agro while everyone else is attacking it aswell(with or without a pet).

And im a very clevar mage myself and i can easily beat hunters. All i have to do is poly the hunter, kill the pet, jump with in 7 yards of the hunter and nuke him while keeping him forzen in place. When im 7 yards away from him he can melee me or shout his ranged weapon.

BTW im a lvl 50 mage.

The characters classes are played differently when it comes to WoW and EQ.

I had all the characters between level 20-50. several at 35

In Eq the cleric was the highest armor class. and thier heals were instant heals, not charging heals like the priest.

So far the paladin and mage are the only ones that feel familiar, yet new of course they still have different abilities than EQ, but,

the fact remains.

paladin = tank. Priest = healer. The abilities are 100% different, but the roles are the same

just add 2 melee or casters or preferably a mix for perfect group.

Ask me anything.

You can beat a hunter in PvP, grats, I don't think there is anyone who can't beat a hunter. My brother plays a hunter and at 36 he can get his DPS up to 70 and when he uses his ability that has a cooldown of 5 minutes he can get it up to 90, just wondering how it compares.
