The World of Warcraft development team has confirmed that BlizzCon attendees will be able to go hands-on with a playable sneak peek of the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion. For those who won't be able to attend BlizzCon, please note that gaming magazines hitting newsstands in different regions of the world around the time of the event will feature in-depth previews on the new content we have in store -- World Of Warcraft Official Website

Ah, I don't like MMORPGs much. Gets boring after repeating:

Kill-get-sell-buy-kill-levelup-get-sell-buy-Kill-get-sell-buy-kill-levelup-get-sell-buy-Kill-get-sell-buy-kill-levelup ~*snip* (less of that plzkthx. signed: the management)

1537, what games don't get repeating ?

i wonder what they'll add .. hmm.

1537, you missed out making friends, playing together and having fun. Also facing challenges as groups that others may never have complished. Not to mention the great feeling you get when you get these so called repetitive levels and items that pointed out.

Sweeeeeet. I can't wait to see what new stuff is implemented. Hopefully they at least make the environment a little more interesting by adding stuff like weather.

Also adding the Goblin capital city and maybe even Northrend.

I hate that to, thats why I don't like wow much. But you should try kotor, thats totally different.

I sometimes find it hard to believe why some people dislike World of Warcraft. It makes me think if they even gave the game a chance. I know I shouldn't care at all. But its agrovating when people insult World of Warcraft. This has nothing to do with this thread. I have just been reading some news posts on other websites and thought I would voice my opinion somewhere :D

A lot of people don't like it, don't worry about it.

I personally thought it was terrible, and I canceled my account, but I couldn't care less if you continue playing it.

The kind of people who played it and don't like it are the kind of people who usually didn't realize what they were getting into. If you ever go to the official forums you will see that the majority of people there bought a game mostly out of the hype only and didn't realize what they were actually buying. Now they complain and whine to no end that the game isn't what they expected.

MMORPG veterans who don't like it are usually people who were expecting something closer to EQ in the Warcraft universe. Non MMORPG veterans were usually expecting something to be completely balanced with no downtime and all the content in the world released yesterday.

Crud.

Bugger, they do this to me JUST as my subscription runs out? JUST as I've finally got over my WoW addiction? Noooo, I'll be drooling so much over the expansion that it'll make me renew my subcription... BLIZZARD YOU BASTAGES, let me go!

I never expected something like EQ. I expected the exact opposite, though, I would've kept on playing WoW if it had more variety in classes, talents, and skills. I quit as soon as I bought fireball (lvl 5) or something like that, the one you get at I believe was 20.

I have to agree with non MMORPG veterans, I find that most people who play it don't play MMORPGs as much, (Most... not all), and they have a blast.
The community will learn eventually.

What do you mean by this comment? If I'm right you mean most World of Warcraft players have never played MMORGP's before? I thought it was the complete opposite. As soon as you get past level 40 I found it very rare to meet a person who hadn't come from SWG, FFXI and EQ. Also, you will find that World of Warcraft actually destoryed over MMORPG's communities. FFXI for example is having a huge problem with people just buying acounts. Everyone is a newbie and everyone just buys money from the internet. Because of this its impossible for players who work hard for there money to aford items and generally get better stuff without questing or random drops. FFXI is not the same for equipment when it comes to bosses although it is quite similar. Its the same with most other MMORPG's except SWG, as all the people who worked wonthes to become a Jedi got it thrown back in there face in a patch which allowed anyone to become a Jedi very easily. So most good players left for World of Warcraft. You also ontop of all this get WC3 players :D

Expansion Smegmansion! Try fixing the laggy servers and repetititve quests first Buzzard!!! hmmm

I have absolutely no idea why other people's opinions on a game you didn't make aggravate you. If I don't like WoW, it's not your problem.

That's a good one. I enjoy playing MMORPGs right up until the economy goes nuts and people turn into jerks. That usually happens half way through any open beta.

If you want to survive the down fall most MMORPGS face you need a clan of 10-20 people.

Yeah..... well.

FPSes seem to have given me a short attention span. :|
Perhaps its because I suck at leveling up.

I love WoW but i'm desperately trying not to play.

I don't own the game, and i never will... i've grown used to not paying for multiplayer. But still, i keep a character on my friends account, and i love how fully they've realised Azeroth (the world).

It's so beautiful...

And i haven't expored one-fifth of it yet. Nor have i got my ghost-wolf form. Man, I'm crap (although to be fair i've only played for about 14 hours total)

Most MMORPG's suck ass, Especially if you have to pay for them, I mean c'mon, Ya buy the game then you have to keep paying the game company to play it? Thats retarded.

Most other games suck ass, Especially if you have to pay for expansion packs, I mean c'mon, Ya buy the game then you have to pay more to get new maps/levels? Thats retarded.[/dog--logic]

Seriously, that money doesn't just go into blizzards pocket, since release they've added:

Zul'Gurub
Arathi Basin
Alterac Valley
Warsong Gulch
Dressing Rooms
Blackwing Lair
Darkmoon Faire
World bosses/events - such as Lord Kazzak, Azuregos & The Gurubashi Arena
Dire Maul East/West & North
Maraudon
Crap loads of items, sets and recipes to go with the above
along with the balancing and bug fixes you'd expect in every game patch.

I doubt you know what many of the things on that list are, but most of them add a great deal to the content of the game and the amount of enjoyment/satisfaction you can get by beating some of the newer instances, etc and getting the better items.

Considering you get a patch pretty much every month you're effectively paying for episodic content. Think of it similar to Valve releasing 3/4 levels for the halflife story every few months. Is it retarded to pay for that?

True ^

All the things they added in the patchs makes me wonder what will they add in the Expansion ?

They was barely laggy, maybe 1 in 30 days they suffered bad lag, which you moan about yet you agreed to it in the TOU/TOS. The quests aren't repetative either, find another MMO that has better quests than WoW.

I've quit WoW about 2 weeks ago because i was getting bored of the Community and content...not that its boring content, i just have a life and haven't got the time to get any of the stuff most people have, but that doesn't go to say that WoW is a bad game because its still one of the best games ever made.
