i have a geforce 6800 oc(factory overclocked) and in wow, whenever i turn around or something when im moving(mostly) it gets choppy for a second, or sometimes when im just running it gets choppy. i tried putting it on low everything and this still happens. this is making me so mad that i can't play like this. what i mean by choppy, is that like the screen just stops for millisecond about 3 times in a row(each time for a millisecond) and then goes back to normal for about 5 seconds. lol i hope u understand this. but now to the point, i run hl2 on full specs and i expect to run this game at least on low without choppiness. btw my screen refresh rate is on 60hz.

athlon 64 3000
1gb ram
geforce 6800 oc

THANKS!!!!!!!!! I really need suggestions!!!!!!

EDIT: I have timed it, and it officially happens every 4 seconds.

I have the same card and I have no problem with that, but when I am Stranglethorn Vale I get about 20 FPS.

You can try lowering the draw distance. I think that helped VirusType get his WoW fixed up. Turn off Vsync too.

i think its some sort of refresh rate thingy or something because it happens all the time, even in the start off place..... and i even put the draw distance to the lowest and it still didnt work. it happens AT THE EXACT SAME TIME CONSECUTIVELY, so........HELP!!!!!!!

At what times do you say it lags? All the time? Or just certain....

Because the game lags for everyone in a lot of places.

i have a viewsonic e90, 19 inch i think, and its not lag its fps i checked using fraps. my lag is uaually around 120, is that good?!?!?!?!?!!!! i dunno ill format my hard drive tommorow i guess :dozey: :dozey: :dozey: :dozey: :dozey: :dozey: :dozey: :dozey: :dozey: :dozey:

Your lag is around 120? Do you mean your latency? 120 is fine for latency.

my brother's PC was doing the same thing, I scanned for viruses... nothing, I checked for CPU useage, fine, etc etc

anyway, I fixed it by just downloading the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com

I suggest you check for driver updates yourself.
for the record his comp never did this before the latest patch.

lol turn off Vsync!?!?!?! no man Vsync is a cheap monitors best friend! it sounds that your problem may lay in the hands of TEARING, tearing occurs when the monitor refresh rate unsyncronyses to the patterns of the graphics card. Also if it isn't that try updating drivers... yadda yadda, and spyware/backround running programs. And most importantly check your creen resolution because the resolution of your screen maeans higher DPI and more space thus causing the GPU to work harder (GPU= Graphics Processing Unit, for you non-techno savvy people out there). Otherwise if it doesn't work try examining your computer components and if all else fails RMA that card and see if it makes a difference, or if you wanna be teh h4x you can run the card on a separate PC and see if it has problems of that sort also. The main rule in diagnoses is changes, andy variable changing that is unpropotional may cause varying effects that would need close examining.
