Wow, look at all the locked threads

Are we even aloud to post anything anymore mods? This place is starting to become a power happy joke. I’ve been a forum member for awhile, I don’t have 5000+ posts but that shouldn’t matter. It seems to me that the mods have all gotten a big stick up their asses lately. I think I’ll be taking my posts to hl2fallout and hl2worl(d), they seem to have the best info now anyways. Their mods aren’t a bunch of stuck up power happy asshats. You’ll probably ban me for speaking my mind, that seems to be the thing to do around here for you all.

I'm not leaving, but I agree restricting preload talk to one thread is a little much.

seems that you cant just discuss anything regarding half-life2 anymore..
I asked perfectly normal HL2 question's in one of my threads.. and it got moved to speculation... I DIDN't SPECULATE! i asked a few questions about hl and stuff..

I haven't been on here as frequently as I have recently...but yeah, lots and lots of threads being closed. Then again, I'd assume post traffic is higher than normal now in light of recent events so they need to make it as clutter free as possible (don't know how forum servers work, well, servers in general lol). It may be more a space-sensitive thing than a god complex thing.

I agree some of them needs to be locked.. but for instance the bets on the size thread. Why did that have to be closed? I wanted some post size info discussion.

heh i was thinking about making a new thread like this but when i refreshed i saw it was made =-). Yea mods you seriously have to chill with the locking. I know a lot of new threads were made about the preload and you had to lock them but the hl1 screenshot thread didn't really need to be closed. It was old news but obviously not everyone had seen it.

All of the threads that were locked could have been resovled with the search function or by posting in a thread that already exists.

As for only one Preload thread, that is all that is needed.

The past couple of days have had an extraordinary amount of flaming and really stupid/pointless threads. This is a reaction to it.

I honestly don't want to see this site degrade into other sites that I occasionally take a look at. I'd rather have some sembalance of order and having some threads locked, instead of having rampant spamming/flaming/insulting.

The mass amount of locking is a bit on the heavy side. I think, once the flaming/spamming fest slows down and Icarus starts to get use to moderating these forums, I'm sure things will return to normal.

PS - The thread that you created and moved has been covered 500 times. Its not like you created an original topic. You were lucky it wasn't closed.

Many of the threads are duplicates and there are many on the same page, Icarus is doing a good job of keeping them clean

dude its no use talking logic with some pple here.. they obviously don't understand the mess that has been the HL2 General Discussion area.. granted it still looks a bit messy.. but now that mods are taking care of business it should clean up and look a bit better
