12,000 writers from the Wrtiers Guild of America are going on strike. This means that pretty much every major TV show is going to have no writers in the coming months. Shows like Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, House have about 5 episodes worth of life left into them. After that, no new episodes because there of no more scripts..

Not even Leno will have scripts... Colbert and Daily show have also ceased production, apparently.

The last time this happened was 20 years ago, and that lasted almost half a year.

there are lots of freelance writers floating around

Finally, now is my chance! :bounce:

Why would the Colbert and Daily show stop?

Because they're striking...
