wtf is this

ok so I have ashwebsv.exe running, it is an Avast! anti-virus thing. Then randomly the POS starts taking up 99% of the cpu! WTF.
So what do I do? For now I've disabled it but how do I stop it from reoccuring?

Reinstall Avast then update it. See if it still does it.

didn't do anything, fortunately I saved my PC from severe lag by switching the thing permanently to one core, only reason I noticed that it was taking up that whole core was when the fan started increasing in speed.

Use NOD32 Antivirus. :-p
