Ok, I have currently got 512 RAM of memory in my PC (which sucks)

I put another 512 in, which after some twiddling (damn bleep codes) boots up.

So, my computer now runs with...128 meg of Ram.

-.-

I can't get into BIOS and change it, and when I take the new Stick out, it goes back to 512.

WTF? :flame:

Yeah, I've had this same problem with a semi old compaq.

First some questions

1.How Old is Your Motherbopard?

2.Is The RAM new?

3.Do you have the book that came with your computer or motherboard?

The Motherboard came with the PC, about 3 and a half years ago.

The ram is fairly new, but it's *supposed* to be compatible.

And no, I don't have a book with the motherboard, sorry

Um... Waht kind of computer is it? and what type of motherboard do you have?

'Tis a Packard Bell, I-Media 3065.

Not sure about the Motherboard though

lolz. Your RAM is dividing by 2 and subtracting each other.

Try a different ram slot if you have one, and it could be the different RAM sticks conflicting with eachother because they aren't the same kind?

are they different speeds?

does each work it self in each slot?
ex: put 1 memory stick in a slot turn it on see if its ok then turn it off
put that same memory stick in the other slot and see if that works.

do the same thing for both memory sticks
