Gamespot shows pictures of the Phantom console by Infinium labs, well actually it's just a model which shows what the retail version "will" look like.
It's idiotic, I mean, the control port are at the f"u"cking back.

It's actually quite good looking, in my opinion. But not as good as the ps2. But you're right, putting the controller ports in the back is silly.

I hadn't heard that it was a hoax, but I thought the idea behind it was very good. You would download games from them which would be saved onto your hard drive, in a Steam stylee (but I'm guessing it'd have to be much more stable). I don't really care though. I'd rather spend the money on upgrading my PC.

ahem, the controllers are wireless. If there even are any ports at the back (Which i havnt seen) then they are just for the reciever for the controller / wireless keyboard + mouse.

i am pretty sure this is fake, and even if it isnt, the fact the u have to download the games off the internet, makes the thing Uber-Gay.

OK, I read in many reviews accoss the Internet that you need to make a contract (Pay around £30 a month) to play online and offline, also you want be able to update your software manualy you have to plug it online to do that. Man that Sux.

I have to pay £300 for the main unit
Pay £30 every month
Pay extra money £50-100 for its Extra staff.

The Unit in total after a year will be between £600-1000 depends on your country.

This is will be very VERY expensive and The Important thing is that PC always got better graphics and better games.

It was / is a hoax. EGM said it like 2 issues ago... and confirmed that it was fake. I remember 'cause I thought it was a 'cool' idea and approach to gaming, but then I read it was just a hoax and got suicidal... err, I mean I wasn't excited anymore .

It's a 3Ghz P4 PC in a smallish box and a game service... better than PS2 but it's not worth getting if you have a PC... just the same as every other console then.

EDIT: OMG they have changed there website, the first version was soooo cool.

ya, sucks... but at CES, a company called Apex is planning on selling a $300 high quality gaming PC that is fully automated (no windows, so it doesn't suck up RAM and u can't get viruses) that connects to your TV! all u gotta do is stick in the game! i might get one, sounds better than phantom
