Holy christ, Microsoft failed some serious hard.

Haha, its so used to failing that when it succeeds, it thinks something went wrong.

I think the error message would be more appropriate if:

"Error: You have successfully upgraded to Windows Vista"

Haha... I bet someone put the wrong icon and title in .. that's probably not actually an error, just the result of someone not proofreading :D

I actually like Vista though, now that I have a laptop with it.

"OH NO! WE DID SOMETHING RIGHT FOR ONCE! That cant be good!"

Rofl. Of course, since I havent tried Vista I'm not gonna bash it anymore...

Hah, so awesome.

Sorta like how it always ALWAYS tells me a program didn't install correctly whenever I try and load up something pre-XP (and often even XP compatible stuff).

You ****ing fail at not succeeding.

Hating Microsoft Fanboy..

This error usually means that there was a permission error in reading/writing the file. (Not to say that's what it is in this case).

It's also in Windows NT

Yes, because we love Microsoft for the LOVELY version of Vista they released. Oh, pay no mind to the infinite amount of bugs, and lacking of applications that were said to work, but then don't with certain hardware. Yeah, Microsoft did a REAL good job, there. :upstare:

I haven't had any problems, and I've been using it for like 4 months now.

The only problem I've had with Vista so far is that I inexplicably had two user accounts at the login screen with the same name and picture - one was an admin account, one was not. When listing user accounts in the User Settings panel, it only listed one account, my admin account.

A reformat fixed this, so it was just the fault of Vista being preloaded improperly on my laptop.

Yes, there are going to be people who have good runs with it, but there are still so many complaints out there about errors that shouldn't exist, and problems that should have been resolved before the software was released.

But so far everyone I've talked with who has actually ran Vista, hasn't had a problem with it other then their computer getting hogged of resources.

To tell you the truth, I personally never had a problem with Windows ME. But I would be a fool to think it was a good OS.

Comparing ME to Vista is just about the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. Nice try though.

I fail to see why? They are both OS released by Microsoft under the disguise that they are more superior to the previous one...when they just screwed up on a lot of points...

And yes, the biggest problem I've heard as well is most programs run more sloppy due to the resources it sucks. Then again, that is just one out of many.

If after using Vista for a matter of months your computer starts to take upwards of half an hour to boot, then we'll start with the ME comparisons :p

I had a completely clean install of ME preinstalled from Dell BSOD when I tried to install MS Office. It was the first, and incidentally the last, thing I attempted to install on ME.

Yeah, ME was pretty bad, the funniest part was when you looked at the properties for My Computer, it still said "Windows 98 Second Edition"

*Sigh*

The weirdest part of Windows ME was that my technophobe grandma was the only one that could use it fairly competently, of all the people I knew with it >_>

Guess they found their demographic.
