I have managed to set hammer up with steam and its woring fine. But now where is the hl1 wad. If anyone wants to post a full tutorial on setting it up for other people then post away plz. But where is the hl1 wad?

I'd like that too. I decided i would ignore steam from now on, and only use it to download Hl2 videos (Which seem to have vanished). Perhaps, once it gets more developed i will do something with it.

Setting up Hammer was a pain when i moved to steam.

I kept my old installation of HL so I wouldn't have to fart around with the steam installed version.

Man.. I dont have my old half-life installation.. and I only have Steam. I tried to make a make and compile it, but I get all kind of problems :/

If anyone has a small tutorial on how to setup Hammer with steam, I would REALLY appreciate it.

what's the problem of setting up hammer with steam? it's all the same. same fgd, same compiler, same wads (unless you deleted the wads from the old hl, cs, dod version) and the hl1 wad is in one of the cache files, for sure.

yeah but hammer can't read cache files,,,

valve said recently that they are working on fixing this

yeah I'm still working on a big cs map. I've kept my 1.5 installation for easy map testing. It makes more sense that way.
