I'm playing airsoft at the weekend and it's a WW2 theme day.

I play quite a bit so have been put in charge of the German side (as the site owner and his team are all going Allies).

Basicly, I'm going to round up my men (well it will mostly be noobs but I'm there to have fun) tell them what to do and hopefully give them some nice German insults to use :D

I never did German at school so all I know is what I've remembered from various WW2 games which equates to "Shnel!" and "Achtdoun!".

Has anyone got some classics that they remember, or know enough German to make some up?

If you could do them phonetically it would be much appreciated :)

Cheers guys

EDIT:: You know what, I'm going to see if I can make this the ultimate "German Lines" thread. :)

Lines so far:
Schnel! - Quick! (Used to indicate that something must be done ugently, such as cooking bacon before one get's hungry)
Halt! - Stop! (Often used as pause before the time of hammering)
Achtung! - Watch out! (Watch out! There is a bear!)
Los, los, los! - Go, go go! (Often used to promote quick movement, preferable towards inevatible death)
Sheisse! - Shit! (Excrement)
Fick dich! - F**k you! (Sugestion to go f**k one's self)
Halt! Hammerzeit! - Stop! Hammertime! (One must take a break for it is time to hammer)
Mein Gott! - My God! (Used to express disbelief of a biblical nature)
Gehen Sie in Deckung! - Take cover! (Sugestion to cover oneself before one gets too cold)
SPITFIER! - Spitfire! (The ability to spit with such RAGE that it comes out as fire - Less common use: Allies fighter plane)
MEIN FUHRER IST EINER SCHNITZELBERGER! - My commander is a sausage burglar! (Asserting that your commander is of homosexual tendencies)
Scheisse, wo tat, dass Affe von? kommen! Und er hat meine Banane! - F**k, where the hell did that monkey come from?! And he's got my banana! (Expressing complete and utter shock that a monkey, that you have just spotted, holds onto the very banana that just saved your life)

Komm mit! (come mitt)- follow me!
Seid Ruhig! (zide roysh)- be queit!
eine Grenaten! (gren-aht-en)- grenade!
An den boden! (ahn-den-boh-den)- hit the deck!
Schiessen sie! (sheesen-zee)- Shoot them!
sie schiessen uns! (zee-shee-sen-oons)- They are shooting at us!
Angriff! (ahn-greef)- Attack!
Gebuhr! (geh-boo-ur)-Charge!
An die Linke! (ahn-dee-link-eh)-On the left!
An die Rechte!(ahn-dee-risht-eh)-On the right!

Pretty much any movie involving the German army is usually built up around ''Schnel!'', ''Achtung!'' and ''Los, los, los!'' (sp on the last one)

I think achtung means 'warning', and 'los' is something to do with movement... I think? Go, go, go? I've no idea, as like you, it's just stuff I've heard in the movies. Love it, though.

Just watch Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers

Heheh, "los, los, los!" I like it :)

There in lies my problem. I'm back at my parents house with no games or WW2 movies!

Thus why I call upon you hl2.net! :D

Mein Gott - My God!
Gehen Sie in Deckung! - Take cover!

Edit:

Just so you know, Schnell actually means, "Hurry!" or "Quickly!" not "Stop!"

If you want "Stop!" in German it's "Halt!". Easy enough considering halt is used in English too.

MEIN FUHRER IST EINER SCHNITZELBERGER!!!

or

ACHTUNG!!!!!!! SPITFIER!!!! SCHNELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, if you get hit, cry out MEIN LIEBEN!!!! (its from wolfenstein)

That still doesn't help with typical phrases you hear in the movies - nor does it help me acctualy pronounce them :D

However, it does let me translate:

F**k, where the hell did that monkey come from?! And he's got my banana!

into:

Scheisse, wo tat, dass Affe von? kommen! Und er hat meine Banane!

I'll have to use that one!

Cheers for the help though guys - I think i've got enough to remember now! :)

Neigung f?hrst du jeden schnelleren Klaus? - Cant you Drive any faster Klaus? (according to the google translator, anyway)

Wir m?ssen Schicksal in unseren eigenen H?nden herausnehmen und unsere eigene Zukunft bilden.

It's actually

Scheiss! Woher kam dieser Affe? Und er hat meine Banane!

This reminds me of a big group of internation school punters that came down to my local paintball site one day (they were travelling all over the UK doing activities or whatever), and i was picked to marshall them.

Half of them were Germans, half Americans. So they split up with their own countries (you can see where this is going), and they started asking for pyros. So we handed out grenades to the yanks, ran out when the germans came over to us, and we literally had to give them grenades that were designed to look like German WW2 Stick grenades. You had to unscrew the cap at the bottom of the handle and yank the string to set them off and everything.

Went into the woods, and i couldnt stop laughing to the things being shouted. Schnell! Schnell! On the recht! On the recht! Los Los Los!
With the yanks shouting back 'die you nazi scum' etc etc etc.

Ahhhh happy days. That was a good laugh.

Du hast mich gefragt

Tell me ... Who won?

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIN!

Most of you probably dont get this insider joke. :(

Hmm its been a while since I took German, but let's see what I can remember.

"Werfen eine grenate" - Throwing a grenade
"Sie haben meiner kugelschreiber genomen! Ich werde toten Sie!" - You stole took my pen! I will kill you!

I took three years of German.

los actually means "loosely", but in context it is taken to mean "quickly" so saying "los los los!" is like saying "go quickly!". If you literally wanted to say "go go go!' you would say "geh' geh' geh'!" pronounced "gay gay gay!' :p so los is probably a better choice.

Here are some others I could come up with.(with phonetic pronunciations)

Komm mit! (come mitt)- follow me!
Seid Ruhig! (zide roysh)- be queit!
eine Grenaten! (gren-aht-en)- grenade!
An den boden! (ahn-den-boh-den)- hit the deck!
Schiessen sie! (sheesen-zee)- Shoot them!
sie schiessen uns! (zee-shee-sen-oons)- They are shooting at us!
Angriff! (ahn-greef)- Attack!
Gebuhr! (geh-boo-ur)-Charge!
An die Linke! (ahn-dee-link-eh)-On the left!
An die Rechte!(ahn-dee-risht-eh)-On the right!

Haha, those are fantastic TOG! :)

I'm going to be hard pushed to remember all these tomorrow so I think i'll print out a couple of sheets and give them to the team :D

If someone has a video camera I'll be sure to post it here!

Anyway, I'm just packing all my gear and going to watch some tele before an early start, so no more help is needed. I'll be sure to keep you all informed who wins!

Thanks again guys.

Mein fuhrer, I can walk!

Bit of an obscure reference, I know.

Makes sense now taht I think about it. There's a part in Saving Private Ryan, towards the end during the battle of the bridge town, when the troopers are going into the building that Fish and the other guy are occupying with the 50. cal someone usheres ''los!'' as they move through the ruins towards the stairs.
