During WWII the Germans had a secret base inside a mountain that was a factory to produce planes, or rockets (V1s, etc). The base was within the north coast of Europe.

Does anybody know the name I rememeber seeing a documentary, but now I cant seem to find any info?

Was it on an island?

I know the Germans created an island especially for rocket and v2 research, there was also a big underground factory that the raf bombed that was to do with the v2 as well. Off to work now, if no one has got it by the time i get back, i will try to find it.

I went there with my school, very impressive I must say.
They had a real V2 rocket there.

I've only heard of that island, but it was bombed to shit late in the war.

I'm thinking it might have been La Coupole. I remember now that they couldnt bomb it but they bombed everything outside it and that stoped the the usage of the base

if you would have read my post, you would see that I think it was La Coupole. unfortunatly the links did not help me remember if it was exactly La Coupole or some other secret german base.
