www.halflife2source.com claims a membership of 31000 compared to our 12000. Pretty damn impressive I thought, so I popped over there to check out their forums. I registered up and jumped into a few threads.
The one in particular that caught my attention was Fragmaster's Farewell Letter:-
http://www.halflifesource.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=2464&perpage=15&pagenumber=1
As I was reading it I came across this post by Bluejacket:-
"just read something hilarious at HL2.net. The kids at HL2.net seem to think that Fragmaster left PHL because of them. Now THAT is funny. Most of the Half-Life 2 community don't even visit HL2.net or even know what the hell it is (and their site is ugly as shit anyway).
Fragmaster indeed left because of the things he stated in this thread. Not because of kiddyland. What idiots (and not the first time either).
Good luck to Fragmaster, you will be missed."
Now this thread was 3 pages long and had 1684 views. I decided to do some investigating and looked at the farewell fragmaster thread here at HL2.net:-
http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20790
24 pages and 12,508 views.
Seemed to me that there was some differential going down. Anyhows no sooner had I posted this information in response to bluejacket than would you believe it all my posts there mysteriously dissappeared (including some classics........
) and my account got banned without notice. Who'd of thunk it :O (also the view count suddenly hit over 8000 for their fragmaster thread as well...)
I noticed some other interesting things whilst I was there as well. Firstly in their member lists they have 30 members per page and 208 pages of members. We have 30 members per page and 433 pages of members. I'll let you do the maths on that one.
When it comes to online members they have 4 members and 268 guests!! on the boards at present, whereas we have 79 members and 43 guests. I'd of expected their online member count to be a tad higher than ours (where the **** are they all? Down the beach or something?).
To be honest I wouldn't of bothered posting this information, and exposing them for the lamers they apparently are (...must have biggest halflife fansite!!) here if it wasn't for the fact that they opted to ban me for no real good reason than to cover up their own deceptions (though we HL2.net regulars all had a laugh at them in #halflife2 on quake.net irc). Maybe either Andy Hodges or RblDiver might be man enough to step up and explain themselves and their actions, though I doubt either has the balls to do so. :dozey:
Todays lesson is www.halflife2.net accept no substitutes
