$199 360 HD-DVD drive coming in mid-November :
When it hits stores in North America, the Xbox 360 HD-DVD player should retail for $199.99. Gamers in the UK can expect the player to run them £129.99 ($245), while those in France and Germany can expect to pay 199.99 euros ($254) for the hardware. All these prices have been called "estimated retail prices" by Microsoft, which noted that the actual retail price may vary.
Doom comes to Xbox Live Arcade :
Nerve Software did the honors in bringing the game to the Xbox 360, and made sure to throw in a few features along the way. In addition to the mandatory achievements and leaderboards every Xbox Live Arcade game supports, Doom also has "enhanced graphics," 5.1 surround sound, and online or split-screen modes in cooperative and deathmatch flavors for up to four players.
Doom is available to download for 800 points ($10), and is rated M for Mature.
PGR4 Announcment :
"For the first time ever, Project Gotham Racing 4." Those were the words uttered by Peter Moore at Microsoft's press event at X06 today. While the fact that PGR4 was in the works wasn't a surprise, the fact that it was announced this soon was. Project Gotham Racing 3 was released for the Xbox 360's launch, less than a year ago last November.
