x1900

i have an x1900 and i want to know if ill be able to play anything on the crysis engine or if all new hardware is necessary? ive been out of the hardware/game loop all summer so i really have no clue whats going on right now.:cheers:

well they are running the Crysis demos on dx9 engine since that's all thats currently available and the x1900 is one of the top dx9 cards so you probably wont have problems playing the game even though the game itself is going to be using dx10 graphics; you just wont see some effects of dx10 (which has no cards as of yet).

Wow you are quite the spender! :rolling: Yes you will be able to play Crysis, nut not in DX10 format. But it will still look very, very good. I think its safe to say you are runing the last made ATI DX9 card ever.

I don't think so, since Nvidia announced the 7950 GT you can speculate that there will be a x1950 from ATi.

The x1900XT is effectively bleeding-edge hardware, discounting SLI/CrossFire setups and any Nvidia GX2 cards (which are outrageously expensive ). So no, you shouldn't have any problems running Crysis in DX9 mode. It'll still look amazing... I mean, look at how it looks now!... but you won't get the performance gain or the extra visual flair that DX10 will bring.

You might not be able to quite push maximum settings, but it'll still run the game damn well as long as you've got decent hardware to back up your card.

Actually... you may want to make sure you have the XT or XTX. The other iterations of the x1900 series aren't quite as good as those two.

ive got an x1900xt stigmata. and its backed up by an amd fx-57 and a gig of pc3200 corsair xms. thanks for all the help guys. i really gotta get back into the swing of things.
