They're under an NDA from ATi which is supposed to be lifted 9 a.m. Tues. I imagine breaking the NDA doesn't please ATi...

they arnt breaking the rules if it got leaked. thats like saying hl2.net is under nda from valve, but the information hl2.net had about hl2 was leaked by ANON or somebody. that stuff cant be helped.

anyways i have a contact and he says that the 1600x1200 benchmarks in farcry at full settings will show you the true things

I think they are fake. If those are THG benchies, he would have uploaded the screens to HIS servers and posted an article about it. If a 3rd party site has the pics, he got them from THG's site, and if they are on his site, then I'll believe it.

The story is that Tom's somehow posted them on their site for a very short period of time, some lucky reader saw it, saved it, uploaded it. That would make it simultaneously real and in violation of the NDA. The analogy with hl2.net is correct, but apparently just isn't the case.

Well it's moot anyway. The NDA will be over soon enough and we'll all be able to see some real articles. With these high end cards, no one really cares about the scores at 1024x768 and without AA & AF. I'll reserve my judgement for the maxed out tests as well. I'm also interested to see if nVidia can convince us of any real visual advantage of their SM 3.0 support and other features.

how come the 6800 was up to 30 fps faster than the x800 in some games but in others it was exactly the same?

About 6 months ago everyone was like nvidea is the best because it was faster and then they realized that it couldnt run dx9 games very well. Does anyone think that will happen this time. Because when i look at the resaults in farcry the cards seem evenly matched.

And another question is why in the older games does the x800 seem to run it as fast as the older cards except when resoultion is at 1600x1200

Nvidia is usually the company that stands out when running older games on new hardware but 150fps vs 170fps is a moot point if it's 2nd place on the new stuff.

We had DX9 cards and then we started to see DX9 games last year. FX started to trip.
We are still on DX9 cards/games. Nothing surprising like that (FX's poor performance) should be revealed this year.

The new cards have a lot of bandwidth. If the game doesn't need more bandwidth yet then it probably won't do much better. Lot of the games are bottlenecked by CPU/system as well.

BTW this is most likely the review they will post tomarrow.
It happened to HardOCP when the 6800Ultra was released too.

all i know is, the x800pro and xt own the 9800xt as does the 6800 do the 5950ultras, so basically, the people who bought 9800xt or 5950u within the last 2 months are hitting themselves over the heads.

as for me, ill most likely get the x800 cards, pro or xt dont matter, ill be running hl2 like a charm. god i love holding back on upgrading. i hope they bundle hl2 with x800 cards also.that would be a real treat.

Well the only reason Nvidia is actually getting ok scores, and sometimes defeats ati in like benchmarks, i belive is because Nvidia usually has the game developers incorperate there special rendering code into the game, they dont build there cards based on HLSL.
So there kinda cheating

Which is why i dont like benchmarks against games that have the intagrated Nvidia code!
