In the store I saw an Xbox flier announcing a new Xbox 360 SKU (package)

it does have HDMI port.
includes a 256 MB memory card
4 xbox live arcade games (pac-man included)
A wireless controller.

price was $279.99.

Since it is a new box that now includes HDMI, this is probably the new 'Falcon' chipped 360 (cooler running and the ring of death defect fixed)

Also heard a rumor there is a Xbox 360 Pro 'Holiday' package that includes 2 xbox 360 games.

It lacks the hard-drive though, which is why it's called the arcade package (arcade games are small enough to fit on that memory card).

It also explains the low price.

Dang it, I was hoping by "arcade package" they were including an arcade stick. That would've been a dealmaker for me.

Just wait until Street Fighter 4 comes out (overwhelming hype envelops me like a thick fog)

Probably the only game that could get me to buy a console, although Mass Effect, Forza 2 (or 3?!), GTA 4, and RE 5, Bioshock, and a couple other Xbox games sound quite nice.

lePobz, but you can buy a device for like $20 that lets you store your memory card stuff on your PC. So, you could move files to and from your PC at will. Still saves you money. Agreed, a hard drive is more convenient however. You pay more for that convenience though.

You still can't use that memory card for stuff like XBL demos, most of which are 1+ gigs in size..

Anyway, the Falcon chip has been in almost all 360s produced since September this year, so no matter which one you buy, if it was made in September or later you're close to guaranteed that it has the Falcon chip in it.

Also, the Falcon chip doesn't completely fix the rings of death 'problem', remember that its still there to alert you if the consoles fails.

All it does is reduce the chances of it failing due to some superior engineering.

If you miss-treat it, have it in a badly air-circulated area, you can still get the rings of death.:)

So, if my cousin 'accidently' dropped his xbox while it was still running since I.. er he, had forgotten to change the TV cable to TV instead of HDTV, it would cause the ring?
That's definately not what happened to my old console.

Also, most Xbox's right now come with Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, so there's your 2 game rumour.

really want forza 2 anyway. :D

is MarvelUA any good?

is it possible to add a harddrive to the xbox arcade version later?

Also, is the hard drive lackage the only downside? or are there other missing features (not accessories you can buy and put in later)

I didn't like MARVELUA. But then again, Marvel and those kids of games don't appeal to me. It got good scores, though.

yeah. I'm not sure how much it is. It's obviously still a better deal to get the pro system with hard drive and 2 games.

I'm bummed. I've got SLI 8800 GTX tastes, but I've got Wii money. ....................I don't want a ****ing Wii.

Do not want.

like what? no, I really don't think so.
