Xbox 360 backwards compatibility list out!

Why the hell is Catwoman even up there? Did anybody actually play that game?

I must say, I'm disappointed at the lack of Oddworld up there/

Microsoft says they will continue working, making more & more titles work on 360 untill people lose interest (probably like a year or 2 when all 3 next gen systems are out)

So, all the important titles should make it. But some less popular titles might not be compatible with x360. You can always go to xbox.com or teamxbox, post and let them know you want oddworld. Unlike most companies, microsoft has employee moderators that have some clout and can make things happen

lol only certain games are backwards compatible how gay is that

The Xbox has different architecture therfore the xbox games need to be emulated to work for the xbox360. They will send updates through Xbox Live silver

If you have backward compatibility, don't go half-way. That's my stance.

well, i'm so glad they don't think like you do, otherwise we wouldn't be able to play any of the old games.

But I have a question: does anyone actually use the backward compatibility? I know with my PS2 I didn't play one single PS1 game on it.

Qonfused, oh if I only could count how many PS1 games that I run on my PS2 using the backwards compatability, Suikoden 1/2, MGS1, X-Com 1/2, and more.:)

Yea they are doing it becuase consumers demand it and its a good selling point. At least i would have a couple xbox games to try on the xbox360 since it doesn't come with any games!! =(

Haven't you ever heard parents say, "what are you going to do with all those xbox games we bought you?!" and they get all financially disturbed

Im wondering if all of them will be in High Defenition now? is that automatic? :) i think they are.

I haven't read up on how HD works yet. I don't think there will be any other benifit other than that.

Dead Or Alive 3, Ninja Gaiden and Mortal Kombat: Deception. Heck yes.

VirusType2, the thing I wonder is, if they do use HD, how will they handle the transistion to widescreen(16:9), seeing as not all games support widescreen.

All Xbox games will run in 720P with AA on if you play them on the 360. Don't know about games that are 4x3 but I figure the xbox can render them at 720P in hardware, developers just didnt enable the game to do so.

I do think they are doing it right. They are supporting the games that the majority of people have. It is a much better solution then adding the Xbox hardware to the 360 hardware (like sony does), which would increase the cost of the console.

I don't want to pay more for my console because someone is too lazy to unplug and plug back in their Xbox. Heres a solution: buy a power bar and a video switching brick, now you have backwards compatability for every console!

I played Castlevania: SOTN and Final Fantasy IX on my PS2.

Glad I did too.

Barbie™ Horse Adventures™ Wild Horse Rescue™

Just a heads up.

Games which use a limited subset of the xbox architecture just "worked" for example Barbie.

And some worked when they got better selling games working.

Halo and Halo 2 will be playable on the 360 and they'll even look better on the 360...

Sarcasm.php not found. Falling back to stardard argument.

Indeed. I played Castlevania:SOTN, Castlevania Chronicles, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Chrono Cross, Metal Slug X, and many more. The best backwards compatibility ever (until PS3 :E).

Also, where in the world are the KOTOR games for xbox??? One would think they would be right up there on the list. Oh well. I don't really care that much considering I don't have a 360 at this point.
