Xbox 360 launch == utter chaos

There are no outstanding games for release on the 360 in the immediate future, hell not even anything to rival HL2 (which should have been a 360 release - multiplayer and all)

I'll be sure to pick one up when the price gets to be around $150 usd. Shouldn't take too long.

My friend got the LAST one at me local Wal-mart...the people behind him were obviously pissed...

Someone had to get the last one though, glad it was him or I'd have to listen to him bitch all week

Once he saw that 360s were selling for over $1000 on eBay though, he started to think about selling his own and making a few hundred $...of course he probably won't bother.

I am deadly serious, yes.

The only game which has caught my eye is Perfect Dark : Zero. It looks like it would be an enjoyable game, but it also doesnt look next-generation. It could quite easily run on a top-end PC.

Launch titles are supposed to make you want to buy the console, just to play this 'new, fantastic game'. Think back to 1996, and Super Mario 64. I would not buy the XBox 360 even if it was under £200 - not until they start delivering groundbreaking games for it (which I am sure they will, over time).

Good point, but I wasnt suggesting that the XBox 360 is not going to be successful - in fact I think it will be the most successful out of the 3 next-gen consoles :dozey:

I was merely questioning the massive hype and interest around the launch, where it seems there is nothing revolutionary about the console (in terms of what it can do at the time of launch - not in the long-term) or launch titles to merit this

Well, as I mentioned before, PD:Z was one of the games to catch my eye. Is it enough to merit buying the console? Not to me.

To be honest, it is inevitable that I will get the 360 at some point next year, but at the moment I probably wouldnt play it if it was sitting in my house right now, I'd rather play HL2DM
