Xbox Half Life 2....it exists dont deny it

It's strange, wherever I look on the net about Half Life 2, people seem to be disowning the act that the Xbox version of Half Life 2 exists, it's as if they're ashamed of the fact that a Half Life game exists that has another platform than PC, if that is the case then thats just friggin childish

Well for a long time there was no Xbox version. The Xbox version was released quite a long time after the PC version was. Many of the people that deny the Xbox version are probably when we didn't know anything about the Xbox version.

I think theres going to be a HL2 EP1,2 + 3 bundle for the 360 sometime.

Well, not exactly...some levels are divided in a different way than on PC. But yeah, it's the same game.

I thought they managed to make level transitions seamless like Bungie did for Halo 2. No load times except when you start up the game.

I guess you're right there, i am getting the pc version just to play around with garry's Mod until the end of time itself. fps is based on how much RAM you have and unless you can find a way of shoving a fudgeton of it into your Xbox, you've really got no choice of how fast it all moves wih the Xbox, so it probably is a lesser version, you're right

Well so much for that. I guess Valve has yet to implement it. I have heard they are working on something similar for future Episodes released for Source on the PC.

almost right.... valve will be releasing E2 on 360 along with portals, and TF2. but I do hope that they release a version after E3 of half life 2 where the're all cramed together in to one game... you know, so you dont have to put in a new disk ( or for me go back the the steam window )

I think people are mainly dissmissing it because of how poorly it runs. Now don't take that as a personal attack because actually owned and beat the game on the Xbox. In fact I am very surprised how much they where able to push the Xbox. Though the game is a lot lower res then the PC version most of the graphics are intact aside from a few smaller details. The Xbox version even has partial HDR effects not seen in the original Half-Life 2. Quite a feat if I say so myself. However the game does run like poo and it gets even worst when you run it on the Xbox 360 in backwards compatability mode. I am waiting for the real version due out sometime next Spring.

Really? Dude...well PC version's still better i think, but why would they bother releasing it for PS2 anyway? That game is way old now, it's kinda like GBA releasing the SNES games

HL2 + Xbox = sad. It looked horrid. Granted, people got to see the greatness of the game, it was pretty ugly though *in comparison to the PC*. I don't play it for xbox, so I don't really complain.

edit: one of the reasons that you don't hear about the X-Box version is simply that not many people got it. Gabe Newell himself expressed disappointment at its performance in terms of sales. Though selling a single copy less than the Halo games is a mighty injustice, so he may have just been mad over something small like that

It's pretty much exactly the same, albiet some textures like when you zoom in on clothing aren't to scratch. But seriously, who really cares about something like that? Thats taking being an idiot for caring more about the graphics than the game to the extreme.

I don't think it ran poorly at all, either. How so? It ran fine, exactly how it runs on the PC. You go forward, you turn, you shoot, you change weapon, you cross some land, etc. It's identical. And as for the controller... christ, don't get me started on that. You press forward to go forward, you press the trigger to fire, etc... I can't actually believe people will complain and sometimes not even play a game because 'they prefer keyboards to controllers' After a while, I just forget I'm using a controller because I'm caring more about the game. So it takes some getting used to... yeah, a whole 5 minutes of getting used to.

I can't wait for the EP1 + EP2 games for the 360. I have no reason to go and spend a stupid amount of money on upgrading my PC just to play these, but I have a few reasons to buy a 360, so that all works out fine.

Oh be quiet, neither the X-box or 360 "sucks". If you can find a full blown high-spec pc for £300 i'd like to see it, but the likeliness of that happening is next to nothing. I, for the record, have never played half life on the pc (I played 1 on the PS2 and 2 on the Xbox). It's just as fun, trust me.

Thats no better than just playing Half-Life 1\2 on Pc and then saying the console versions suck\rock.

You have to play both the PC and Console versions and then decide which one was funner\equal.
